First off, I haven't made up my mind if this is the coach that get's this thing turned around or not. The play calling at the end of the game last week was questionable to say the least but his hands were tied by poor QB play. I remember the team doing a bunch of goal line situation stuff during fall practice and Kiffin surely thought his team could get 4yds in 4 tries by running the ball right up the gut. So maybe he messed up there but the man hasn't told us a lie yet.

He never said he would win them all; he said there would be bumps and bruises along the way. We're bruised!

He said he would go out and get a top notch staff. Done!

He said they would go after the best in the nation recruiting wise. Landed the #1 player in the land!

He said that him, his staff, and his team would work as hard as anybody. They did!

He said he would play the best players regardless of seniority. He did!

Finally he said we would be singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat the Gators in the Swamp this year. Not a lie yet and I am ready sing!

Go Vols!

when he did mention singing Rocky Top all night long after beating FL, at the press conference, he paused a bit and said that Hamilton told him to add that.

I would rate the hire as an A+ right now and I will rate the hire as an A+ after Saturday, regardless of the outcome.

I agree too. Hes already bringin in top notch talent to restock the cupboard and an excellent staff. I think the guy is gonna be able to coach too. People talk about him being so new to the scene, but he has a lot of experience callin plays at USC. And btw, when he had the talent, their offense was pretty d*&% good

This game or this season does not change my opinion of Kiffin as head coach at Tennessee. I am excited about the future of the UT football program.

I loved those comments then and I love them now. We will probably get beat Saturday but we are on the way back, any time we can get under Meyer's skin that is a good thing. I would love to see CLK come out on Saturday, look across the field at Meyer and give him the finger. I love the attitude this team is taking on. Give them gators hell! GO VOLS!!

if we do happen to beat UF, there's going to be crazy riots in knox (see LSU victory, 2005) and i'll be right in the middle

It seems for most it's not whether or not UF will win but by how much. If UF players have bought into that train of thought at all it could even the field slightly.

IMO if the Vols can withstand the initial wave from the Gators and quiten the crowd they just might have a chance.

Our O has to get some first downs on the first few possessions.

People its kiffins first year and he is coaching fulmer's players! Yes i hope we beat every team, but we just dont have the talent yet. We will, give this guy (staff) chance. Its like what im telling my friends, look , laugh and make fun today, cause in couple years look out! Look at what happen to Florida when Zook came in, and now look! Look at Alabama when Shula was there, and now look! Relax and know that VOLNATION IS COMING BACK!!!!!

If we win then I will probably get so drunk that I run around Gainesville butt-naked screaming at the top of my lungs with nothing but my UT hat and my Orange & White shoes on!

I'm moving from Gainesville next month and I would talk smack every moment of the day to every person I saw until I leave. My friends would probably hate me by the time I left but it would be worth it.

It's funny that they never play that part on espn. He said something like "Just kidding Urban, Mike told me to say that."

Funny how the media conveniently leaves the Hammy part of his quote out, aint it?

Not exactly that, because Kiffin would never say just kidding as in "just kidding, we won't win" about his own team. But yeah, close enough.

The comment was..."That line was Mike's idea by the way ok, alright Urban"....

Now that we are almost three weeks into the season it might be interesting for some to go back and listen to Kiffin's first press conference.....He's pretty much done what he said he would do so far..He also stressed patience and doing this thing the right way, not fast....

CLK will do just fine. Remember, at his first news conference, he indicated that success would not be quick and would take a while. A lot of Americans (fans) have the "Pop A Pill Mentality" and expect things to happen right away. Be patient.

IMO Florida has a pretty good shot at covering that 30pt. spread on Saturday. I'd go so far as to predict it.

But this hire is fine, and based on the recruiting we've seen thus far, if you don't believe he's gone a long way to righting the ship, you're blind.

We just don't have the talent this year. We're simply not that good. My goals sound painfully modest, I know, but they are this: .500, beat Vandy and Kentucky, make a bowl game. I expect two out of those three to happen. Any more is a good season.

Wow Tennessee is all over ESPN right now! Great for advertising the Vols, but I have never been so sick of the gators and ESPN, how big of a fuss they made about a new head coach just trying to pump up his team up (that was pretty close to terrible last year).

Wish we would kill the gators tomorrow! Im so sick of the negative talk..

Go Vols!! Kiffin is the man!
