Kiffin not happy.

You guys are HILARIOUS saying that Bill Parcels is washed up and the game had passed him by, but oh wait, Monte Kiffin is a genius.

At least be consistent.

Bill Parcels is one of the best NFL coaches ever. You should take his word over Lane Kiffins any day of the week.

Parcels is a good coach, but I wouldn't say one of the best ever.

I read two articles today talking about Kiffin not being happy with the team after todays practice. He said they didn't seem focused in what they where doing and at some points in practice had trouble executing simple plays. Kiffin said in the article that it was like being at another teams normal practice. He said UT has a higher level of skill and sets the bar higher then other schools, so normal practices don't cut it. Me I think it is just nerves. How bout yall.

Nerves? No. I think that Kiffin is ensuring once again that every player on his team knows that the mediocrity that has been embraced in the past is now unacceptable and that this team is now held to a higher standard.

You mean like in '05 when Phil was swallowing all of the ranking hype pre season and stating as much in the media before the season?

I recall a preseason 2005 quote from Fulmer stating that the 2005 team could be the best team ever fielded at UT. Fulmer managed to keep that same grip on reality throughout the remainder of his regime.

I read the article that you are referring to on VolQuest. I am excited to hear CLK make these statements. Over the past several years, Tennessee has played up or down to the level of it's opponent. It is time to have a team that plays to one level every game. If we want to get back to playing for National Championships, there is only one level to aspire to....perfection or as close as you can get to it. I believe that we are in good hands with Kiffin.

Really though, its the first i have heard from kiffin about this team being special. I'm not saying we are a championship team, but Kiffin believes we should practice like one. He holds these guys to a higher standard then every team around the country.
