Kiffin lets Vol Nation in on the joke at press conference

He was talking pretty early at Florida. This famous zinger was from 1991.

Talking pretty early and talking BEFORE playing ANY games is DIFFERENT and a big issue along with false accusations and post game whining (from anyone).

"after a 45-13 win in 1991 over the Bulldogs"

I hate smack talk, in general, but I can live with it if your team earns that right by winning. Living the Spurrier Experience taught me that verbal jabs can be a guilty pleasure under the right conditions-AFTER THE GAME.

The whole act is ugly, but I believe verbal jabs need some guidelines lest, God forbid, college football becomes pro wrestling.

Not. It's our job to ask questions...Lane's job to answer -- or not answer. He has the option.[/quo

if that makes you sleep better at night...you know the media baits coaches every chance they get. in hopes of maybe just maybe they get their 15 minutes of fame in the bigger markets.

My thoughts exactly.

And while I'm at it... I am about sick of some of our fans who complain Kiffin doesn't smile enough. If he bites the heads off kittens and punts puppies when he goes home I could give two you know what's.

Haha...I am a woman, but my post was particularly for my MIL who during the whole game on Saturday kept saying "doesn't he ever smile"? And I kept thinking, he's a football coach in the heat of battle...he shouldn't be smiling...

With that said. he is awfully cute and I wouldn't mind seeing it ya know if someone had a picture...:birgits_giggle:

you are casting a big net....Kiffin's most controversial comments have not been answers to questions...it's been all him....

Coaches make millions, and part of the job is knowing how to act in public and how to answer questions to represent their team and fan-following.

I think asking Kiffin about the letter was a fair and needed question, and I'd say he anticipated it.

Fans can coddle their coaches, that's fine -- but in the media, the job is to ask the questions that need to be asked....

I'd agree some media do grandstand....but not all
