IMO I like what he is doing getting all of this pub. Here is my thinking.

We are going to be underdogs against FL @ FL. Probably a 10 to 14 pt dog. Ya, they would be talking about TN vs. Fl and how they have owned us but that would be it really.

Now with Kiffin saying these statements it will add more hype to the FL game. We will get more pub than any game that day and IMO Kiffin is wanting that and especially if we can pull the upset.

Do you all realize how huge that would be for UT and our recruiting? I think Kiffin has himself set up to be a great one or a failure. Next year may not be the year he does it but I believe he will beat 1 or 2 of the big 3 we play. Maybe 3 of the 4 if you include Ole Miss.

Same goes for the Bama game. TN may be on more TV games than anyone this coming year and that puts a great light on our program.

IMO we beat BAMA,UGA
Lose to FL. They are just too loaded and they have Tebow.

i hope you're right. about him being great and not a failure! i would love for us to beat any of the ones you mentioned. that would be a great opening season for kiffin and it would shut up the rest of the SEC who thinks he's going to bomb. One of my friends, who's a Bamer, said that there's no way Jacques Smith will stick with his verbal to UT, because were going to suck again this year. I hope we prove them wrong! GO VOLS!

UGA proved that you can beat UF if you hit them in the mouth. The culture at UF is one of arrogance. If we can get them emotional and wanting to destroy us then we have a chance to get them to make mistakes because their head isn't in the game.

Tell your Bammer friend they don't know what they are talking about. He will sign early and enroll in Jan.

Alabama wasn't good in their first year and they got a top class. We will have a top ten class next year, new coaches get a free pass their first year at a program as far as record goes. That really doesn't hurt you on the recruiting trail. Your friend is wrong, plain and simple.

What makes you think you'll win those games? Kiffin hasn't proved anything and you still have a 5-7 team on your hands. Bama and UGA are way ahead of UT just like they are carolina.

Before everyone gets so riled up about comments by CLK, just remember who he learned to coach from-CPC the Master. Clk knows what he is doing. What is the worst that can happen? Florida has already beaten the s--- out of us and we have beaten them a few times. At least he is letting them know that we do not fear them. I give him an A in mind games.

I agree that he knows what he is doing. First, I agree with another post I saw that UT got national publicity yesterday -- the day after signing day -- with the emphasis being on a recruit that UT stole away from Florida's back yard.

Second, UT has been nothing more than an afterthought on the national scene for years. Plus, when was the last time Gameday visited a Tennessee game.

Now, fast forward to the the early part of next season. Maybe ESPN brings the crew down to the game and gets the Vols some early exposure.

Staying in the news isn't necessarily a bad thing. It can't hurt with recruiting.

Finally, Spurrier has made a living off of comments like Free Shoes University, bashing Kiffin earlier this year, etc. Where was Foley's self-righteous outrage when Spurrier made these comments as a Gator? Those in glass houses....

My thinking is that they have new QBs so it will level the playing field. We were handicapped last year on the Offensive side but that was with Clawson. I have a feeling that we can't get any worse on O so the only way we can go is up.

GA lost QB and RB. AJ is the olnly one left.

Bama lost QB, their backbone IMO. They don't win without JP because he had experience could guide the frosh.

JMO :good!:

I agree with all the above. The day after NSD...LSU & Bama had the #1 & #2 class in the country. What they also had was absolutely no media coverage. With every HS kid in the nation watching, Kiffin put UT football in the minds of every kid around. Some say it was bad press...I say "no" press is bad press! This was a calculated move...Kiffin knows the rules and he knows that Meyer didn't break them in this particular instance. IMO, it was for dramatic effect...call some one a cheater and it is bound to be on Sportscenter! Also, he outed CUM as acting like a little whiney girl calling her ex-boyfriend non-stop.

Kiffin walked in the room and punched the biggest SOB right in the nose! Personally, I love the fire!

One more thought about all this pub. . .not sure if I would go about it like this, but isn't this a way to keep UT and Kiffin's name in front of Brice Brown. Isn't this a dead period? So my thought is an 18 year old kid might be swayed by this whole rivalry thing. He's not looking at UF right, so maybe this makes him visit us. . .maybe a stretch, but I wouldn't put it past our guys to try something out of the box to keep his attention. . .

More from Lame Brain Kiffin

Still, Kiffin's ability to ruffle feathers outside of Columbia quickly became evident when he first predicted a Tennessee win in the Swamp next season: "It's going to be fun hearing Rocky Top after we beat Florida next year." He later turned his attention to the Georgia coaches when he suggested that the UGA coaches had gone to sleep on recruiting in the Peach State by assuming all the top talent would come to Athens.

"He said [that] Georgia went to sleep?" Richt replied when questioned about it in a teleconference. "I would say this: I'll just make comments about our program and everybody else should probably do the same."

Clearly, that is not the case. For the record, the only Georgia prospect Tennessee signed was safety Darren Myles who had not been in the Bulldog mix for quite some time. On the flipside, Richt signed the top two players from Tennessee, both of whom had scholarship offers from the Vols -- Marlon Brown and offensive lineman Austin Long.

And ofcourse about his own players in his signning class

"Understand this class is far below the standards we have here and what will be here in the future," on Wednesday did not sit well with the prospects and parents of the 19 who faxed in their national letters of intent.

Kiffin just put a bullseye on his ass for every SEC head coach to throw darts at.

He's the spurrier of the 2000s. . . . except he is 5-15 as a head coach!
