Kiffin is crazy like a fox

But that’s the point. This isn’t a guy without a clue. This is a guy who just really might have all the answers to building a championship program in the 21st century.

But unless or until that happens, the hunch here is that college football fans would be wise to either climb aboard the Lane Train or get out of its way. Because Kiffin doesn’t appear likely to slow down for anyone or anything in his path.

I love these two comments.

The Lane Train. That's awesome! That gets me fired up. Is is football season yet?

"And if the coach breaks a few secondary rules along the way, so what? Did anyone make him stop recruiting those players? He knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s pushing the envelope to its limits and until the NCAA pushes back harder than a slap on the wrist, he knows the Vols will get their recruit more times than not."

"Moreover, does anyone really believe that Southern Cal coach Pete Carroll would have made Kiffin his recruiting coordinator if he didn’t know the rules? He knows them well enough to know how to get around a few of them, which, sadly, is a huge key to winning at the BCS level."

Its about time someone put it like this....great read

I'm just ready for spring practice, fall practice and then the 2009 season to start. I am so sick of hearing about recruiting wars. I think we will be able to gage how things are going to go with CLK by the statement game on September 12th with UCLA. I know this isn't the home opener, but I expect a motivated CLK and Vols to put it on UCLA. Two factors, California recruits and revenge for a shameful loss last year.

WOW..A nice article for a change.

Some of those KNS guys could learn a few things from the Chattanooga TFP. They actually have a couple of guys that take writing a good article seriously, instead of trying to be the story themselves.

So no "Money" Kiffin jokes, or accusations of the Head Coach being a woman hater. Refreshing.

I think Kiffin just got little bit too excited when he joined us here. It's something we'll have to forgive him for. But seriously, at the FL and Bama games, something dirty might occur...both are away games...

I lived in the Knoxville area most of my life and have been in Chatt for 3 years, the TFP sportswriters imo are much better than the KNS, but we all know they suck.
