Except for some pro-USC honks, the local press has been excoriating USC AD Mike Garrett for his hiring of Kiffin. They don't like Kiffin's youth, his style, his handling of the UT recruits and his general sleaziness. Of course as a Bruin I think it's a match made in heaven now that Maude is in Seattle.
If you can find recent columns by L.A. Times writer T.J. Simers you will see what I mean. He rips Garrett up one side and down the other.
Out of solidarity with UT I will wear a Vol jersey to the USC-UCLA game this year and I will try to get other Bruins to do likewise. Wouldn't it be cool to see several hundred Vol jerseys in the Bruin rooting section?

Tell you what, I am seriously considering taking a trip out there next year...I was going to do it anyways for a vacation so I might as well make it when that game is...If I can find a ticket at a decent price lol...I'm sure thats a hot one to get.

If they pull the upset and play that...ESPN will be all over that like bark on a tree! :dance2:Tell you what brother, You just made a whole lot of new friends...I actually have a game used UCLA jersey that I have had put away for the longest time...I collect game used jerseys of several teams...Out of complete respect you can rest assured that I WILL be wearing that jersey when you guys play USC...And I hope you lay 70 on them...I swear if you guys can get the band to play rockytop on national TV you will set the college football world on FIRE!! :dance2:
Hey Bruleif thanks for the kind words, and yes playing Rocky Top or wearing a UT jersey would be a riot, and would also get you some pretty good press IMO.
Whats a good Bruin forum that has a good set-up like this one? I will most certainly be visiting it before the USC game next year.:good!:
Oh yeah, whats up with the WeAreSC forum? The layout looks like something from 1998,or maybe I just don't have my setting right in the user control panel.
I have always liked UCLA. But could you please take back Rick "Doc" Walker. 20 years of listening to him here in DC is enough for a lifetime. The only Bruin forum I read is Bruingold.com but frankly, compared to Volnation it is not very good. I don't mean the contributors are not passionate or knowledgeable. It simply does not have the format and the features that Volnation does. There are other Bruin forums that are better but they are pay-as-you-go ones.
The funny thing is I cannot even post on Bruingold.com. I have been banned. I suspect someone very friendly to the UCLA Athletic Administration is the admin of that site and he/she did not like my observances of the coaching. I can't even recall if it was during the Toledo regime or the Dorrell regime. I didn't say anything rude or coarse of vulgar - not that type of person - but I was very adamant in whatever opinion it was and that was enough to be me exiled into the college football wilderness. So, you see, west coasters can get just as worked up as you all can.
