I don't know that I did anything but provide you guys with some facts ...and then applied a scoring model to it . The Florida score was correct from last season , Bama did nothing before the half . Tennessee defense was ranked number 4 nationally , and was on the field most of the game in every game because the offensive production was so low .

Items for success :

Increase offensive production to servicable amounts ( not a stretch given that many elements of this offense were ranked in the top 10 before clawson took over )

Defense maintains its current level ( not a stretch considering Monty is in charge )

These two things happen ...and the vols have a shot at every game they last last season . Go back and look at each game and substitute a meager ball control offense for the Clawfense ...and see what you come up with .

If by that you mean that you utterly manufactured points for UT, hallucinated that the Gators did not score points they did, and rolled it all up into some psychotic fabrication of the score in a nonexistent alternative universe, okay, gotcha.

Sorry friend. In all likelihood, UT will quiit. Is Lane Kiffin in Urban Meyer's head? Yes. 10,000 press articles in a week will do that.

Will Lane Kiffin win a national championship at UT? Absolutely! He already has. UT has dominated the field the last week and wears the crown of most annoying school in the NCAA. UT also has carved out an impressive niche burning bridges at talent laden high schools. Volunteer fans are celebrating their disctinction all over the place.

The proof will be in the pudding on national signing day next year. UT will be an average team, no better than third in the SEC behind UGA and that school in the state where Nu'keese used to play. If UT can't match UGA and that other school in recruiting, then.....

Yup By that I did supply facts .

Florida put up 243 yards against the UT defense
UT put up 258 against the Gators
Twice the Vols were on the UF 1 yard line and could not score
Fumble by Aaron Foster handed Florida 3 points
Florida ran the opening kick back for 7 points .
6 opponents scored 14 or more points on Florida

So back to my original . The D stays tough , UTs offense finds a way to go 2 yards on two plays = 14 points , good coaching eliminates mistakes , take some points off the board for the gators .

Every team UT faced outside of Miss State shut down their terrible offense . All the coaches have to do is make the O marginal to put them in contention to compete and win given their defensive stregth .

for a program that has supposedly become irrelevant in the SEC and will continue to be so, we sure have seen a massive upsurge in the gator/bammer trolls these past 2 weels....

I beg to differ...CUM is a "good" coach but not great. I define great as building a losing program into winners, Turner Gill (Buffalo), Paul Johnson (GT), Bobby Johnson (Vandy)...etc.

My 70 y/o mother could win an NC at UF based on talent alone.:thumbsup: Same goes for UT but CPF managed to find a way to tear up a bowling ball. We have great talent at UT and it shouldn't be too difficult for CLK to turn them into winners in short order.

You sure about that??? I'm thinking you're off a bit there... since 1976 the Gators and Vols have played 23 times. The Gators have won 17 of them. Between the 70's and 80's the teams played each other 6 times and (unfortunately for you) the Gators won 4. Sorry bud... know your facts my man.

thats true. since 1990 when the vols and gators have played every year we have owned them. and no tem has been made fun of more than the vols and it is all due to the gators. i do think the intensity level will be very high for this game but it will be intenisty in the swamp. remember teams have to play perfect to beat us there. with a rookie coach who is unproven against a veteran coach there is no telling how urban will out chess clk. and i don't believe clk will have them as fired up as people think. once reality hits it will be a whole ne world. again i have no worry's this year or the next few of tn, but remember that we just won a national title, we feel disrespected by a bad program. people are more like who does this guy think he is more than scared. even lsu and ga and bama doesnt say things like this because top programs know how hard it is.

The fundamental problem with your argument (and there are a number of them) is that you give no weight to the score or status of the game as its played. When Floirda suddenly found itself up 20 points or so, it shifted gears offensively and focused on ball control. You can't take those statistics as anything other than a snapshot at the end of the game. They are misleading as to the real relationship between those two teams over the course of the whole game.

I still think that many Gators are going to be surprised when a Kiffin coached team hits them back again and again, play after play. Unlike the personality of some of our more recent teams that said "thank you" after a Gator knocked them on their ass and were sent off until their beatdown the following year. Teams often take on the personality of their coaches and believe me our teams the last few years took on the exact personality of our last coach.
