Kiffin has nothing on Jim Tressel

Wow, we have 6 recruiting violations and ESPN makes sure the whole world knows about it. Yet they don't say a thing about 300 plus violations from OSU. They should have a whole 2 hour segment about this.

With the exception of my father, I've never met one. By which I mean one who is actually normal, doesn't live and die based on Saturday afternoons, doesn't lay waste to property, and isn't absolutely convinced of some elaborate ESPN conspiracy to bring down Ohio State and nothing else.

You just described 80% of the entire SEC fanbase. Like I said, there are PLENTY of good, knowledgeable OSU fans...they are just drowned out by the idiots, just like our fan base. And just to reiterate, that isnt 300+ violations by the football program alone, its the entire AD. And it isnt news because Tressel isnt a lightning rod for controversey right now like our HC is. Simple.

And 98% of the Ohio State fan base.

Seriously. I've been at tOSU for about 5 years and I don't consider their fans to any more arrogant or crazy than SEC fans.

Every fan base has at least 5% idiots and 5% intelligent fans. How the other 90% gets divided up varies widely. Northwestern? Mostly intelligent (and largely cynical). South Carolina? Delusional buffoons.

Over the last 10 years (and I've lived in central Ohio for most of my life), I've noticed a profound shift from Ohio State's overall fan base going from a largely intelligent, largely normal, passionate fan base to a cross between Notre Dame fans and Bammers.

The Bammer part, of course, is the loud, obnoxious, boorish drunken vandals. The Notre Dame part is never shutting up about how great they are, then when things go bad (any time there's a game against a good opponent) either talking about teams from before anyone was born or talking about academic and admissions standards.

When SEC fans start talking about those as an excuse for getting thumped continuously in any game of importance, I'll agree with you.

I've met a couple of older fans my dad's age that are like that but that's about it. But most of the people I hang out with are 18-25 and are intelligent and maybe too young to bring up old teams. I lived in AL for 8 years and their fans were way worse despite having less than half the success of OSU during the time I've lived in each state.

Do illegal cleats count as a secondary violation? Just checking.

lol... they haven't forgotten!

Also seems the loss to UF in the NC was based on something somebody said in their locker room before the game. Had whatever it was not been said, of course, they had the better team and would have manhandled the Gators.

tOSU... it's a fragile ego. :eek:hmy:

It's cause ESPN can choose who and what school they want to report or talk about minor violations on....
