The best choice not named Peterson.

You could probably still bring Tee home under Kiffin. My God they would recruit well together.

This isn’t hard...

He probably was but until this scenario unfolded it was never a realistic choice. At this point it makes a lot of sense. I don't think they will do it but I would be very excited about bringing him back. He is a top flight coach that could make us competitive with anyone in the sec within 3yrs.

I just don't get the Lane idea. Do people not remember why we ended up with Dooley and Butch, he left us in an in a bad way and now we want him back?

We all need to step back from the ledge and think this thru, he is not the answer.

I don't get the Cutcliffe idea. He gave us the Clawfense, which gave us Kiffin in the first place...

He told them if USC called he'd answer. Plus the AD should always have a list of candidates. UT AD gave us Dooley
Edit Plus I'd rather win than get a google coordinator

Just hire Tee Martin and be done with it. Support him go through the growing pains and see what happens. The players would respect him, volnation would be excited, and he can recruit.

EXACTLY fans would be very lenient to a former vol and growing pains rebuilding with former vols on staff. And he will recruit like hell

I think that would be a great idea. I honestly believe with the right staff he could be our Dabo.

Adoree jackson was on 104.5 the zone in nashville yesterday saying that Tee Martin swayed 3 Southern Cal kids from coming to SEC schools, Alabama and Florida to stay home and play for USC. Them 3 players went on to play in the NFL, Juju SmithSchuster, SuA Cravens, and Adoree Himself

Why not give Tee a shot at this point. He's proven he can recruit, and coach a stellar offense.

Thank you. Glad to be here. I have faith the Vols will be back to prominence. But as we all know, this hire is crucial to whether that happens or not.

Not to mention he was fired from usc

Fired at the airport - this was a hard thing to hear unfold - a young man who had his dream job - with a wife and several babies - crying and begging the AD not to fire him - with his father actually on the bus traveling with the team - to be kicked off the bus and have to taxi back to campus - and find all his stuff laid out in the street

I tear up just thinking about this. Oh the cruelty heaped upon young Lane Kiffin and his beautiful wife and children.

Lane Kiffin is better than any of these coaches.

Lane Kiffin is one of the few brilliant coaches with the guts and thick skin to jump right into the current Tennessee fire storm and enjoy every minute of it.

He is built to take the heat and all the media attention. Brash enough to actually go toe to toe with anyone in the SEC including Alabama.

He can recruit like no other, the kids love his attitude and he can develop players, especially quarterbacks.

The fans know this and will accept him with open arms and the administration needs to hear our voice!

I agree. Tee has the 13th ranked offense in the nation, he has been a assistant in the SEC before, he can recruit has azz off, VFL players would be pumped, & he could probably get the Chief & Jay Graham back, and he is very respected in the coaching nation! Kiffin does not respect this football team, the university of Tennessee or the state of Tennessee. He trolled this team and tore us up on social media all year. His players that he recruited were in & outta here faster than he was. The guy cannot stick around anywhere longer than three years. He would just use us as a spring board for another coaching gig. I cannot believe vol fans would even consider this guy. Oh what, he led us to a 7-6 season?

I have a couple question, & I’m not endorsing one candidate or another, do people change & grow? Are you the same person today that you were 8 years ago? (I really hope for anyone’s sake the answer to the last question is no)

Did it hurt when Kiffin left the way he did, yes. Has he changed in the time since then, I don’t know. It might be worth talking to him to see if he’s remorseful over the way things went down, if he’s a more humble version of that guy. If he seeks forgiveness, offer forgiveness.

I’m not necessarily saying hire him, but I am saying let’s not cut our nose off to spite our face either. Interviewing him would have to be one of the most extensive interviews ever, & just because you interview someone doesn’t mean you hire them on the spot.

Whether UT interviews him or not, stop carrying grudges & resentment, let them go & be free.

Kiffin was screwed by USC sanctions

He knew about some degree of sanctions coming when he took the job, but they lost something like 44 scholarships and any coach is doomed at that point.
