Kiffin has 2 years

5150 has show he/she makes stuff up. He once said there was a piece on ESPN.com addressing how our fanbase lacks class. When asked to link it, he provided an article with one line that mentioned how our fanbase was growing restless. Poor guy wants to believe so bad.

5150 may be the illigetimate kid of Posivol and his virtual 'wife who puts Layla Kiffin to shame.'

as long as we're not going 3-9 every season, Kiffin has several years.

I think with a 7 win season next year, followed by a good recruiting class -- he'll have eternity.

No it hasn't. Ron Zook recruited great talent and they had a great college QB that year. Tons more talent that UT has now. We don't have a QB.

Alabama had two ridiculous recruiting classes are Saban worked a miracle by winning with all those young guys. Kiffin is no Saban.

Keep your sour grapes off the forums and go cry on your Fulmer shrine.

Exactly. I don't people realize what little talent the former coach is leaving to Kiffin. I think CLK should get 4-5 years to turn this program around. I look at Gary Pincknel at Missouri and Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech, two outstanding coaches, that needed 4-5 years before establishing strong teams.

Kiffin has 2 years to what, get moved into his house, and get a good stand of grass in his yard. 2 Years? Really?
2 Years?

Didn't say we made a mistake. I said we could have done a lot better. Fulmer>Kiffin. Has Kiffin even won anything? He took in a great USC offense, and coached QBs at Fresno and CSU for a while, then flunked at Oakland. What kind of resume is that?

a bad one!

If you're really expecting a two year turnaround, then be ready to be disappointed.

Meyer and Saban are exceptions, not the norm

both too had a great deal of pieces in place when they got there

meyer did saban didnt....................splash

Poor guy wants to believe so bad.

You may not be a believer now, but by the end of next season you'll know what a minority on here already know.......Kiffin is not qualified to be HC at UT and it was a huge mistake in hiring him.

This is like a bad dream. 2008......when one of the most elite (if not the elite) programs in college football makes a hire that throws the program back years.

That was clearly in reference to you making up articles, not what I think about Kiffin or the upcoming football season.

Did the article not suggest what I was talking about? Did it not point to the fact that "booing" your home team is (at least, in some people's perspective) a class-less act.

Sorry the name of the article itself didn't live up to your expectations. Next time I will make sure it has at least 3 paragraphs that meet the intent.

You sir could F up a wet dream...stop freaking out..."we made a huge mistake!!!!!" "this guy has no experience!!!!"...."blah blah blah...I never played football in my life but I know I could do a much better job than those that have been doing this professionally for years!!!!" ENOUGH already. Your argument has no legs to stand on and you're merely bashing the new coach before he has even stepped foot on Shield-Watkins field...you need to just calm down be patient and reserve your opinions until you are proven completely wrong next fall. GO VOLS!!!!!

2 years is all it took Meyer and Saban at Florida and Alabama. I think we will know whether or not he can compete with them.

i like to bust his chops (too much kiffenaide) but all kidding aside,in 2 years we will know what we got.

This is some very shortsighted drivel.

You're welcome to bash the hire, just provide some support other than his going 5-15 with a team that Lombardi couldn't have won with.

Chris Huston, a.k.a. the Heisman Pundit, was the sports information director at USC for a number of years and ran Carson Palmer’s and Matt Leinart’s Heisman campaigns. The most charitable thing he has to say about Lane Kiffin is that he’s a good talent evaluator, though he has an “abrasive” personality.

Huston continues on about how Kiffin is not as good a recruiter as he’s made out to be, that he won’t get along well with SEC culture, and that he brings a complex offense that players will struggle to learn. In other words, Huston is basically calling Kiffin a younger Charlie Weis. Well done, Vols.

I don’t know if the two had some sort of personal conflict that keeps Huston from being able to say nice things about Kiffin. That is always a possibility. At the same time, he says Kiffin was “about as disliked as you could get as an assistant at USC,” and he points out that the most common comments he heard from USC players regarding him was, “I hate that #$%&$#!” Even if those remarks are exaggerated, they are big red warning flags.

Isn't it interesting that only "TRUE" Vol fans support Kiffin?

And Sir, as much as I hate to disagree with your argument that there are "no legs to stand on" when it comes to dismissing LKs ability to coach, a better argument could be made that Hammy has "no legs to stand on" when it comes to defending this hire. What....you going to tell me that "he did great in the interview"? Mr. AD....did you happen to look at the resume too?

Maybe I care too much. Maybe thats my problem. Maybe I don't like the idea of putting a loser at the helm and "wishing upon a star" that it works out.

5150, you do care too much, maybe you should have put in your resume.genius take a day off, your hopeless negativity could piss the pope off

yeah lets only give him 2 years and lets say he has to win at least 9 games his first year and if he dosnt win at least 13 the sec. and if not lets fire him and find someone new come on get real i dont expect him to come out and win a sec in the next 2 years it would be great and i wish he would but i dont think we have a talent that FL AL or even GA have yes we have had some good classes in the past few years but the old staff wasnt developing the player like we used to i think eric berry is just a freak he could have gone anywhere and been a great player i think all u CLK haters out there need to chill your going to have to live with him for at least 4 years and CPF isnt coming back its over i will say that i have wanted CPF gone for a few years and butch davis was my first choice but i think CLK will do a good job and if he dosnt then will be talking about this again in a few years
