he has matured, but I don't think he has fully bought into the type of killer mindset required to win championships in a competitive league. you either have to be THAT much better than everyone else, or be willing to outwork them. Saban was a bit of both, which is why he is the GOAT.Ole Miss loaded the wagon last year for him & he went 9-3, losing to Ky. (4-8) & Fla (7-6). Everyone has to admit he underachieved big time with that roster & $ Ole Miss spent for him.
Sounds like a lot of “excuse making” for a guy who simply did not get it done.he has matured, but I don't think he has fully bought into the type of killer mindset required to win championships in a competitive league. you either have to be THAT much better than everyone else, or be willing to outwork them. Kiffin can get up for the big games, but doesn't have the focus/intensity to keep his team focused when playing against worse teams imo.
Of course the below video is humorous as much as any exchange between CLK and Finebaum but, Kiffin seems to be, well, kinda firm on the statement that Fulmer believes he got him fired.
As fast as things moved at that time, could it have been true? Seems had it were, someone in the know would have told Fulmer; albeit later after the firing.
I do remember the next season Fulmer was a guest on ESPN or CBS and the host was trying to gig him into controversy on live TV about Kiffin and Fulmer taking the bait however, he didn’t say something that was negatively earth shattering.
Saban was permitted to cheat with impunity. And the Birmingham officials gave him an edge if he was ever in a touch spot.he has matured, but I don't think he has fully bought into the type of killer mindset required to win championships in a competitive league. you either have to be THAT much better than everyone else, or be willing to outwork them.
