So combining his point with the point that this deal gives us a guaranteed 4 spots to me means it’s not a bad decision (especially when it comes to revenue) but we still are the better conference and should often have 5 in when things get lopsided. SEC tended to always have more teams in than the other conferences, so maybe something to build on there?Sunday, Kiffin shared a message about Indiana and Ohio State's schedules the rest of the season.
"To 100% lock up College Football Playoff spots, Indiana and Ohio State need to beat teams with a combined Big Ten record of 4-23. The Hoosiers play three teams in the final three weeks of the season that are a combined 0-16 in conference play," the message, retweeted by Kiffin, reads.
Nope. Heupel has two in the sec in one less season than Kiffin. 4 ranked wins on the road against all conferences. Before this season Kiffin was 0-6. Try again. Funny how yall defend the guy who destroyed our program more than the guy who brought us to national prominence.Josh Heupel has 1 win against ranked opponents at Tennessee. Its almost like it is hard to do or something
There will more SEC teams than any other conference in the playoffs this year and from now on. So as usual you are wrongnope I disagree. they will just select fewer SEC teams.
here's the secret to making the CFP:
1. play in a gigantic 17 or 18 team power 4 conference
2. ensure than only 2 teams are ever really quality teams
3. Build a schedule that avoids playing those teams at all costs
4. Walk to the playoffs
sincerely the B10 and ACC
Actually i am not disagreeing with most of your post. I just don't see the committee choosing a 3 loss team from SEC even if their 3 losses were from the number 1,2, and 3 ranked teams. I will believe it when I see it. They say they look at sos but it appears to me they go more by w verses losses. With 9 conference games it's highly unlikely that we have 4-5 teams in conference with 2 or less losses.
12 team or 16 team playoff is a joke. It's all about money. How many years will it take for #16 to beat #1 in this 16 team playoff? Never? Can you go back in history and show when even the #4 ranked team deserved a chance at a national championship? Or name a year that the #4 team was good enough to win the National Championship. NIL and Transfer Portal is going to widen the gap between Power 4 and Group of 5. And probably less than 10 Power 4 teams will dominate the polls. Notre Dame will be able to schedule a 10-2 or better record almost every year and be in the playoffs. The big 10 has the same 3 or 4 teams at the top most every year. The current ACC and Big 12 will have 1 team most years. The SEC will beat up on each other every year, making it difficult to get more than 4 teams in the playoff. We are in a time of the destruction of college football. Let's rename the CFP -- the big 10/Notre Dame invitational. The SEC is going to get a guaranteed 4 automatic qualifiers in the expanded 16 team playoff. The 9 game conference schedule is part of that deal.

I agree. So Tennessee is out of the playoffs this year, but let's hope they finish 9-3, get a good Bowl and finish 10-3. For the UT fans writing this season off, go hide in your closet Heupel is proving he is a coach that will win a NC, probably more than 1.I agree. A 9-3 team should have zero chance to contend for a national title. This expansion to 12 has been awful as it is. They should have stuck it to 6 with first round byes for 1/2 or 8 with no byes.
Expanding the playoff to 12 and now possibly 16, has ruined the pride and joy and tradition of college football
This is a very disrespectful thing to say to people who just came out of the closet, and now they have to go right back in.I agree. Going forward I don't see more than 4-5 selections from ACC/Big12/Group of 5/Independents. I see the SEC and B1G typically splitting 7-8 selections of the 12. And the B1G has a much weaker middle to bottom of their league. We are very strong for the top 10-12 teams.Actually i am not disagreeing with most of your post. So you won't say I am right, because you hate when I am right? Gotcha, makes total senseBased on your track record, my money would be on anything opposite what you said. Especially when you immediately call someone else wrong.
