Kiffin accuses Meyer of recruiting violation

I'm sure the majority of programs in Division I do things such as this, but they just go unnoticed as long as nobody abuses it, like Kelvin Sampson did. Then again, for Tennessee, there is no rule in being competitive.

I just find it odd how Lane Kiffin is stepping on EVERYONE'S feet, and he's yet to play a game in the SEC. He'll either find out the hard way, or will look really smart. For my sake, I hope he looks as dumb as can be.

Congrats on signing day, Vol fans. Hope you enjoy Nu'Keese and Marsalis.

Oh I've been laughing about this for a few hours now. God knows this was bound to happen eventually. Don't be surprised if it bites Kiff in the ass later...and I don't mean losing to UF next year.

Right. Because I know the eleven other SEC coaches will be ready to point fingers the first time Kiffin screws up.

CLK will have the Vols competitive. They may only have a roster of 40, but they'll have a good philosophy. They will hit people in the mouth. They are not a charity.

Exactly. The pressure is on for Kiff not to get caught.

Agreed, but to an extent I think the other schools were ready to scrutinize UT's recruiting. We've all heard the talk around USC's recruiting practices and certainly Coach O. Perhaps he was making a statement that the knife cuts both ways.

A few weeks back, we were discussing on here whether UT could beat Florida and there was some talk from Vols fans that perhaps Florida would be complacent, having won so easily the last two years. Theory being that the Gators might not be motivated for the game and the Vols could sneak in and pull the upset.

I don't think that's going to be a problem.

Thanks Coach K!

Any Vol fans that were saying that were dumb anyway. I don't buy that complacency crap. It's still a rivalry. Kiff will not be game planning for UF to overlook us.

Its not a question of game planning, its a question of whether the players are focused and motivated. And while I would expect them to always be so for an SEC game, every little bit helps.

Besides, there's still a good 7 months or so between now and game time... I'm sure Kiffin won't shy away from giving Urban Meyer MORE bulletin board material. I'm not going to make an outlandish prediction that Florida demolishes UT by 50, like some have said, but it's just like Georgia this year... you mess with Meyer, your in for it.

Actually, my guess is that some contingent of the UF squad may well set its sights on just such a margin of victory.

I gurantee that whichever network gets that game is going to hype the crap out of these comments by Kiffin.

Only problem is that its not against the rules. As a matter of fact I think CLK might have broken one himself when he publicly accused CUM and Florida of cheating.

Kinda made CLK look silly.

CLK is one cocky S.O.B. I am loving it, but there is one thing that he better make sure of, and that is backing all this cockiness up with win's on Saturdays against our rival SEC schools. If we get blown out by Florida and Alabama again, statements like this from him are going to make him look like the biggest idiot in the SEC. Any one can talk the talk, I sure hope he has the balls to walk the walk. We will see.

On a side note: Kiffin actually violated SEC rules by publicly criticizing CUM of a violation. Not only was the violation false, Kiffin could get into some trouble by going about it the way he did. Ah, young coaches.

"I love the fact that Urban had to cheat and still didn't get him," Kiffin said.

I love that Kiffin is pissing off Urban Meyer in recruiting. Now we need to do it on the football field.

He is a BAD mother!

i love it,,, its freakin awesome that we have a coach that doesnt have the problem of telling another coach to go ***k himself,,,, get em coach .

According to UF officials...CLK owes Meyer and UF an apology. Apparently, the UF position after contacting the SEC Office and NCAA is....there has been no rules violation with Meyer contacting the prospect during a time that was not a dead period...? Just hope that we are not the ones left with egg on our face when all is said and done.

Pissing Meyer off or not, you still would've demolished UGA b/c they were that overrated. If we lose next year, at least we will have pissed off Meyer in the process. That is worth more to me than you can imagine, which tells you the state of our program for the past 8 years.

UF AD demands apology and rightly so, Kiffin has no idea what he is talking about. I guess he is trying to beat up on Meyer off the field cause it will never happen on the field.

Kiffin & Meyer...this one has all the makings of a sissy slapfest the likes of which we've never seen.
Pass the popcorn...these two weasels are just getting started...

:)

Kiffin is the one that violated the rules. He violated the SEC code of ethics.

Poor Lane is so in over his head and he doesn't even realize it yet. For you guys' sake I just hope he doesn't land you all on probation.

Can't we all just get along. Everyone just needs to hush their mouths and leave it on the field. Jesus Christ, are we 12

Thank you so much for your concern about our program being put on probation. Come back real soon, ya hear.
