I was hoping the same. Looks like Texas v. Arkansas, NC State v. Miss State, and Mizzou v. Kentucky got the night spots.

UT doesn’t have any control, unfortunately. But this is why they were open to moving the opener to Thursday, would have been three straight noon games with limited TV eyes.

I’m actually happy with them, despite the heat. There are some really strong games later in the day both weeks.

On the positive side..........will probably affect Pitt more than our Vols. For the fans, noon KO may be a little more comfortable than 3-4pm. That afternoon sun can be brutal. Tailgating after the game and after the sun goes down is fun too! Go Big Orange!

Hot weather will force teams to use their depth. This should help the Vols as we have less drop off from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd string.

Plus stretching the field offensively in the heat won't be something Pitt will like.

Also, an early TTU game will give us more time to rest and prep for Florida, even if it is only 5-6 hours.

I suspect that's the luck of the draw when you're at the bottom of the football pile.. Hate noon games but oh well, we'll drive up Friday night and come home after the game.

That's surprising that we are stuck at noon that day. It's not a very attractive schedule in the conference that day. The only other SEC, P5 vs. P5 games are:

Texas @ Arkansas
Missouri @ Kentucky
NC State @ Miss State &
Texas A&M @ Colorado
