all the moaning in the world is not going to stop it. all the dooley excuse making is not going to stop it. the proof is in the pudding. he either wins next year or is history. to anyone who knows anything about football we took a step back this year. no doubt. it ended terrible. the clock is ticking on dooley and his orange pants and quick wit. this is the big boy world. win or get gone. do i think he has what it takes to get it done. nope, not a chance but we'll be in the stands pulling and cheering for the vols.

The OP did not say he Thought Dooley would turn it around... he said it was his to either win or lose.... what is so hard for some of you antt-Dooley fire breathers to understand

Reading is FUN-DA-MENTAL

Good point. I skimmed the first two sentences and thought I knew where he was going. My bad guys.

We're down for the foreseeable future.

Not a sky is falling post, simply an assessment.

Oh goody, another sunshine pumping, Doo-little excuse making, program apologist. As if we don't have enough of those in our fanbase.

you are entirely too witty to not be a famous entertainer. add that to the fact you obviously have all the answers for the fix of the program makes you almost god-like for volnation.

you are just wanting to bash dooley no matter what.

Good post! I agree. The only question is, what is the definition of "win?" How many wins are enough wins. This will be the great point of debate as we move forward.

The part of the OP that I have difficulty with is the thread tag
"Kick us while we are down---we won't be there much longer."

I wish I could believe that, but I don't. This program is a disaster.

where in the OP's post do you find him blaming the fanbase for the coaches and players..... he simply stated that many expect instant winners and this will take time. No where does that say it is the fanbase's fault.

Also how do you get your numbers of 50% of the team not having any fire... I saw a team that lacked talent, and sometimes seemed to lack leadership, even from the coaching staff.... but I never SAW 50% of the team lay down....... I saw this team confused, slow and unemotional at times, but I also saw Neyland half empty, guess the same reasoning would say 50% of the fanbase gave up... Not saying we did just using your own logic

Also never did the OP state anything about Kid's being Kids.... so go rant in someone elses thread

Great response!

I just mean that Tennessee will be back, if it is with Dooley great, if not the next guy, or the next. If you compare with Alabama of the late 90's early 2000's we are in no worse shape then they were, they went through what seemed like 12 coaches all named "Mike" before they bit the bullet and got back to form, in this same period the Gators have fallen, Michigan has fallen, along with many others. So yes kick us while we are down we wont be here forever. Again just my opinion....and everyone needs to remember that man is most dangerous with his back against a wall and left with no other options but attacking, DD must begin the attack next year, his coaching life depends on it is all I was trying to say.

I don't think many fans were expecting instant wins. What a lot of fans wanted to see is a team that was improving and the players getting coached up. They wanted to is a well-coached team, that played hard and with discipline. Asking for progress in the teams play from season to season and from game to game is not asking too much even when a coach is rebuilding.

It's not Tennessee's God-given right to be a great football program.

A whole lot of hard work, money, good coaching and great athletes have made it what it is.

When you start expecting great things from a guy with a terrible resume just because he wears orange pants, has a famous last name and he's the current coach, you have a problem.
