Khalil Mckenzie Conditioning

Got a full season to be wrong or right...you do know we're on the SECOND GAME, right? :)

Two players in front of him currently. 3 if obrien comes back. I stick with what I say. Next year he might be a game changer. Just not enough reps in him for this one. 😁 by golly I hope you're right though Butchna! He was just talked up to be a first day all star is all.

Big part of the reason for him not playing last week is his little shoulder injury. I'm sure he will be playing a lot this week

I didn't know the reason for all of the #@$$ing and moaning, but then remembered this is VN, and there doesn't have to be a reason.

Butch already said earlier this week that KM would be getting more snaps in this game. I would bet it was because Butch knew that Obrien was being suspended. I will also bet that KM will play as long as he is productive. Now, if he proves to be unproductive after the 5th, 10th or 30th snap because of inexperience or conditioning, I suspect he will be pulled for somebody else. Same goes for ST and any other player on the team. I don't know how any of you can complain about that, but I'm sure you will find a reason.

Relax.

But, but, but LWS said he had poor conditioning and wouldn't be surprised if he played very little this year. (Blue Font)

I think we're gonna see the coaches be smart about it. They'll sub KMac in when there's a reasonable chance they can sub him out again after 3-6 (maybe even 5-8) plays.

If Oklahoma is really pushing the tempo, and it's early in a drive and they have a lot of field in front of them, and opportunities to substitute are few and far between, I don't think you see KMac on the field. But if OU slows things down, or when they're in a situation where they probably won't run more than a handful of plays in a row, that's KMac's time.

So Coach Stripling will be making calculations like that as he's substituting Vickers, Williams, Tuttle, and McKenzie in and out.

It's just smart coaching, is all. Using your players in ways that allow them to succeed for the team.

This is at the feet of VN. Most on here were hyping him up as an NFL All-Pro before he even set foot on a college campus. He was still in HS when so many were placing way too many expectations on this young man. The longer he goes without playing, the rumblings from the peanut gallery will get louder and louder. Then we will overreact. CBJ will have to calm the suicide jumpers down. Rinse and repeat. So is life on VN.

I have seen no less than 3 threads where someone has referenced "word from practice is Khalil is getting winded after a few snaps."

Can one of our guys on the inside speak to this? Is this true, or just more expert opinion from VolNation? Personally, I find it hard to believe after being evaluated extensively by recruiters, this sort of thing would've been overlooked.

Any thoughts from those in the know?

I do know that on the second play of the last drive the bg ran, they drove mac five yards off the ball. I was not impressed.

Kmac will be a first round pick. He is a freak. Yes conditioning is unreal when you have six weeks, especially missing a year of football. You can't just jump into things, significant injuries will ensue.

Larry brings good info...just pointing out that it was quite interesting for him to state that KMAC will be used very little this season after one game.

If conditioning is a serious factor and he plays little to none all year long then I will retract my statement and issue Larry an apology.

He will play more now obviously. (b/c of suspension)
Just let these guys go at a natural pace.
Yes we are getting athletes and I also "can't wait" but most here end up disappointed when a freshman doesn't look as dominant in the NCAA as he did as a senior playing h.s. kids. (jr in this case).

Honestly, as much as I want to see him play, I wish we were not in the position to NEED him.

Just give the kid some oxygen, a milkshake, and a handful of gummie bears between quarters..he'll be fine.

It would make sense that his conditioning is bad coming from his lack of playing and also missing the earlier caps. Also it would make sense that he didn't get into the BG game because of this. Their offense prevents substituting DT easily with their quick play. But who knows the real reason he was held back the first half. Ohh yeah...BUTCH KNOWS.

Y'all tease, but this is the work of a cryptologic genius.

:compute: I pasted it into Google Docx and ran it through spellcheck. Just before Google crashed, a window popped up warning me it required translation first.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Kahlil the one in the video at a camp destroying the Alabama offense line recruit?

Didn't Khalil tweet CBJ about a hill back home he was running up to get in shape? He called it "his girlfriend". Sounds like he should have spent more time on his "girlfriend". Ahhhhh, nevermind!

3 and outs will help. Maybe his contributions will help accomplish that.

I would be really to bet with his pefigree and hype his conditioning is more than fine.

It's a smokescreen for something positive or negative. I think k hell have a coming out party against Oklahoma. Would love to see him crash down.on Perine or Mixon in the backfield for a big loss Oklahoma's first possession.... The noise at Neyland would hut an all time high.

I don't care if he can only play 1 play per quarter, there's no need for Mckenzie not to be out there. He has been dominating during camp.
