key to victory this saturday will be in whether or not ainge can move in/out of the pocket to make plays on third down...i know sacks are few and far between on ainge but he gets rid of the ball...i expect the usc defense to provide our most formidable challenge of the year...ainge must be able to convert on third down to keep drives alive...he hasn't shown the ability to do this in the past, but i feel he will need to leave the pocket to pick up first downs in the ball game..does this risk injury? yes...but its time to put everything on the line as we have 0 margin for loss to stay in the conference race....anyone remember john elway lowering his shoulder to get across the goal line in the superbowl...that play let the entire bronco team realize that its time to lay it all on the line....who better than ainge to fire the team up with this type of attitude and play. go vols!

How about if our defense shows up ready to play?
Ainge will be fine.
As long as he does not try a QB draw like last year:banghead2:
I just hope that toe injury of Taylors is ok by gametime.
Whoever can run the ball will win the game period.
NO TURNOVERS!!!

If we score points than they do, I believe we have a great chance at winning...just MO

at this point, this is what I am using. Ainge moving in the pocket, defensive backs playing smart, offensive line protecting...Fulmer's play calling.....bla bla bla. Its a home game, against the Visor. Show up or shut up. It your house. Play some ball, get after it and dont quit til the whistle blows. Sic em Rocky Top, your due a good win! Lets go Vols!

for the most part, ainge has been "fine" in all 7 games...however, we have lost three of those. and yes, the defense must "show up"...but lets face it, the defense is not good this year and about to face spurriers offense.. i fully expect spurrier to move the ball.

I honestly seeing this as a old school grind it out on the ground game for the Vols. If "The Visor" does not have the ball then it will be hard for them to score.
We have a 3 headed beast as far as a running game goes. I say we pound that rock down their throats.
As far as our defense goes who knows????

With South Carolina's rush defense being 82nd in the nation, the logical thing to do is run, run, and run some more.

Now that I've said that, UT will probably throw it 50 times. :banghead2:

The key to the game is call Vandys DC and sub him for Chavis. The last good defense we had was when the immortal headhunter Al Wilson was at LB.

it appears the usc secondary will match up well with our receivers..also, i hope we can expect big reduction in penalty yards this week.

I think we will win this game but, I wonder what kinda of speech CPF gives them for motivation. I think you can only use the "us against the world" talk one time a year and he did that against GA. Just wonder how he is going to get his team fired up on this one. If GA beats FL, which they have a great shot at doing he shouldnt have to look very hard for a motovational speech. What do you guys think?

Every loss has been to a coach that has had a good gameplan and adjusted accordingly. Thus Spurrier beats Fulmer once again.

this may just show my anxiety about this game, but here goes......

i actually think if we go in to the SC game and GA has beaten FL, we play this game tighter than we would otherwise. SPurrier. The East on the line. at home.

it immediately changes from back against the wall to "oh, we can't lose this game now".

all we have to do is win is when i get the most worried.

it's probably me though......:eek:lol:

I say we get the ball first, score, onside kick, score, onside kick, score, etc., the mroe our defense is off the field, the better

The key to the game will be if our defense can stop the Cocks every once in a while. They sure didn't against Bama. I bet Spurriers weak a$$ throwing game gets the kinks out this weekend against our horrible defense. If the Vols lose this one, then it will surely seal Fulmer's fate don't ya think?

or, can we move the ball against usc. we can't afford to enter any game assuming our defense will be able to stop anyone this year.

given how this season has been going, and with georgia coming off the bye week....yes, i say they have a chance to knock off the gators. plus tebow is nursing a sore shoulder.
