They want to run the ball to set up Play Action as you stated. I think secondary is good enough to keep it man to man and if we can do that, we can disguise different blitzes and hopefully rock there offense. On Offense we need to throw the ball today. Out patterns, bubbles, and quick pass game to Chandler to bring there secondary up, then throw a couple deep ones once they come up. We obviously have to run the ball but we need to play aggressively on O, like we’re trying to score every drive. Throw short to set up the deep throw, which will also set up the run against this team! Go VOLS! Let’s go Bowling!Of course this is only my opinion. Shurmur is experienced and good to very good when he has time to throw. If (BIG IF) we can’t get consistent pressure on Shurmur I think we’re toast. And of course if they're able to run then play action will kill us. Somehow we must get pressure on Shurmur.
Be the tougher team with more “want it”!Of course this is only my opinion. Shurmur is experienced and good to very good when he has time to throw. Quick thought: this is the first game in 3 years UT has had something meaningful to play for against vandy. Hear me out.
I know two years ago vandy game was big bc sugar bowl, but our players lost interest and focus when Florida beat LSU and we lost the sec east. Last year, goes without saying.
Our coaches and players will be UP for this game unlike the past two years where vandy was and we weren’t really. Doesn’t bode well for Vandy
