Of course this is only my opinion. Shurmur is experienced and good to very good when he has time to throw. If (BIG IF) we can’t get consistent pressure on Shurmur I think we’re toast. And of course if they're able to run then play action will kill us. Somehow we must get pressure on Shurmur.

How experienced is their oline and dline? That would tell me all I need to know about this game

Vols need to play solid the whole game. Vandy has problems closing out their games. As my brother used to say "They find a way to lose."

I don’t sports gamble, I prefer penny slot machines, but some people I know and follow are saying take UT straight up today, all day, even though we’re 3.5 point underdogs. Don’t know if they know something we don’t or what.

They don’t know much if they don’t take the points.

This season we haven played well enough to win games without our opponent playing more poorly than normal. Shurmer has as many negative rushing yards as JG, defense needs to show up, especially the secondary if we are going to have a chance today.

They want to run the ball to set up Play Action as you stated. I think secondary is good enough to keep it man to man and if we can do that, we can disguise different blitzes and hopefully rock there offense. On Offense we need to throw the ball today. Out patterns, bubbles, and quick pass game to Chandler to bring there secondary up, then throw a couple deep ones once they come up. We obviously have to run the ball but we need to play aggressively on O, like we’re trying to score every drive. Throw short to set up the deep throw, which will also set up the run against this team! Go VOLS! Let’s go Bowling!

Be the tougher team with more “want it”!

Quick thought: this is the first game in 3 years UT has had something meaningful to play for against vandy. Hear me out.

I know two years ago vandy game was big bc sugar bowl, but our players lost interest and focus when Florida beat LSU and we lost the sec east. Last year, goes without saying.

Our coaches and players will be UP for this game unlike the past two years where vandy was and we weren’t really. Doesn’t bode well for Vandy

Did the vols have nothing to play for against mizzou? Vandy has everything to play for and UT laid an egg on senior day just last week.
