Key to Season = Beat Florida

If we lose to Florida this year (2015), I think that's all the proof we will need that Jones and Co are Gruden-awesome Sunday to Friday but are lost as last year's Easter Egg on Saturday.

I know it's in Gainsville, but everything else is in our favor this year. This is a must-win game for Butch. We absolutely cannot fall over again. Dale Carter 2 Electric Boogaloo epic.

f*** the swamp!

Just win baby!

For everyone saying we have more or they have more talent. It is actually almost a dead heat going into this year.

I broke down the current rosters and this is the following break down according to what the players on their roster were ranked by Rivals.

Both schools have six 5*'s on their roster

UF has 34 4*'s and TN has 33.

UT has 42 3*'s and UF has 30

So TN finally has the better overall roster but the top 40 players are virtually even.

I would love to see us stomp them in the Swamp this year. If we are 4-0 going down there we will bring a ton of fans and it will be wild!

If we are 4-0 going into the Florida game, we need to self-report to the NCAA.

(there are only 3 games prior to Florida this year). :)

Exactly. Last year we had everything in our favor going into that game. Florida, behind an epicly awful performance from their starting QB (59 yds and 3 ints), did everything they possibly could to say "here you go guys, here's the game, you can end the streak"...but our coaches and players pretty much said, "nah, no thanks, you keep it"...and then Florida pretty much did what Florida always does vs Tennessee which is punk and embarrass us no matter what.

If we lose to them again I will literally break things in my home. Pissed doesn't come close to describing how I felt last year.

For those in attendance, we were cheated out of our money that day. It still gets to me when I think about that joke of a game.

I did some checking in my media guide and an interesting point became apparent. In years where we beat Florida we have been very good to great.
In seasons when we don't, the season is medocre to barely good at best.

In one look at the last 10 years, 1997 was an exception where we lost to florida, but still won the SEC and had 11 wins.
The nine years since then we are 4-5 against Florida with an average of 11 wins (13-11-10-10) during the years we beat Florida with an SEC championship (and more) in 98 and East championships in the other three years (3-way tie in 2003).

In contrast the other five years we only averaged 7.5 wins per season.

We must beat Florida this year (and for good measure go unbeaten at home
as we normally should). Do this and we will almost certainly be in
Atlanta on Dec 1.

Go Vols!:rock::dance2::dance:

Any thoughts?

Florida is no more important than any other game on the schedule. If we won every game except UF, we would still be great.

Well hell yeah, 11-1 regular season puts in the SECCG and a major bowl/even the final 4 maybe. However, IMHO, the likelihood of running the table after losing to Florida again would be minuscule. But, then again, if you told me we'd only lose 1 game all year, I'd fully expect it to be to Florida......hell, I'm so confused right now.

I don't think we will have that "snakebit"" look in our eyes. I think this team will have more confidence and a little swag and will win convincingly.

It'll give players tremendous experience and confidence if we do win against them because it's in the swamp.

Florida could play with 8 players and we'd still find a freakin' way to lose. The last two years have been embarrassing--on top of the, oh, 14 or so previous florida embarrassments.

I remember the pregame look on Fulmers' face several times when we lost to Fla. You could tell he was psyched even when we had better teams. I haven't seen that look in CBJ yet. If we beat Oklahoma or play them tough, the swamp will not intimidate him or the team.

The level of disgust and anger I felt after last years game cannot be described. I had to walk off in the woods for a couple of hours to cool down before rejoining the party.

This game almost always comes down to who can rush for the most yards. Their D line has been better than ours almost every year. I think this year will be different. There isn't a team in the country that wouldn't want Barnett. Maggitt would start on every SEC D line. And McKenzie looks like the best D tackle recruit in years. I mean the kid was ranked in the top 10 and didn't even play his senior year. UF will probably be starting a FR at either LT or RT. How many hits can 5'11 180 lbs Treon Harris take from our D line before he decides to stop running with the ball? Don't forget UF's D will drop off with out Muschamp there. If Dobbs is smarter than Worley and doesn't try to pass it on VH3, we should win this one

I fully expect for Will Greer to come in at QB for UF in our game and look like freakin' Aaron Rodgers!
It could really happen knowing our luck Greer was an awesome high school QB and McElwain can make an offense produce.
Dang I hate Florida the worst!!!

The yards rushing is somewhat accurate but UT typically finds itself behind and forced to throw it and abandon the run.

Our improved O will be a small part of the reason we get the WIN this year in that nasty swamp.

The big reason we drain the swamp and get the WIN to end that horrid streak will be our awesome D line rotation and even some of our true freshmen D linemen will make some huge plays both at the DT and the DE positions.

If their QB doesn't get rid of the ball really fast he's going to eat that ball over and over.

Their RB's are going to get slobberknockered and walk in a dizzy daze to the sideline.

I'd love to totally blow them out but I'll be happy watching the floriDUHHH fans leave crying their eyes out from losing on their home turf.

UT...27
UF...17

The horrid streak ENDS!!!

For having a string of curb stompings under our belt and the lack of coaching to hand them one last year, our fanbase sure takes Florida ON THE ROAD for a guaranteed W pretty unanimously.

I'm still not over it. I want the W vs the Gators more than any other this year. Sickening would be putting it lightly when it comes to how I felt.
