We had nearly 700 yards of total offense against A&M yesterday because we dominated on first down. We were able to run at will between the tackles on first down. This gave us manageable second and third downs.

Running between the tackles on first down WON'T WORK AGAINST BAMA. I really hope our coaches smarten up. The key to beating Bama is to spread them out and throw on first down. Ole Miss scored 40+ points on them this year throwing the ball. Arkansas threw for 400 yards against Bama yeaterday. And we all remember what Deshaun Watson did to that Bama defense in the national title game.

Running into that brick wall of a defensive line again and again on 1st down will only out us in 2nd and long and 3rd and long.

We gotta let Dobbs be Dobbs from the start. We gotta throw the ball downfield from the start. No more waiting until we get down 14-21 points before we actually open up the playbook.

We can beat Alabama if our coaches will simply do their job.

....and if you're a receiver, catch the ball on first down. Most especially don't turn it over.

Passing the ball on 1st down worked so well in the 2nd OT...

Haven't you been saying that for the past 5 years?

Nope, I've been saying they were fat and slow and ran ancient football. And they were. Saban saw it, he went and got kiffin and then they went and got themselves a Dobbs at QB. Then they started running Ut football playbook. Ut and Alabama look a LOT a like this year. They really do. The differences being we are not as deep due to injury, and they don't have a very good Oline. We can get them at the Oline.

both teams apparently have bad secondaries. may turn out to be a passing shootout which just might favor us. isolate kamara every chance we get and if we do pass on 1st down....pass on 2nd and 3rd also. Doesn't make sense to run on 2nd and 10,IMO.

You have been saying Alabama is on the decline since last year and they havent been.

You do realise that their CB had like 4 INTs against Arkansas and most of that passing was in garbage time..

I said earlier I watch a lot of Bama football. From what I've seen their pass defense may be their only real weakness on defense. Think what you're saying my be the key.

The key to beating Bama is playing a clean game on offense. Catch the ball, and don't turn it over. They are going to score some points, so it's up to us to play our most complete game of the year. If we do I think we will have a shot. Turn it over 6 times and we get beat by 20+.

I didn't watch the Arkansas game but I did see Ole Miss and Bama's secondary was carved up that game.

You have to spread out Bama and throw on them if you want to win.

They already have 17 or 18 sacks and 4 pick sixes. If their only real weakness is pass defense, we're in some serious trouble.

That being said, I do think we can move the ball and score some points on them. We just can't turn the ball over this week and our defense has to play much, much better than at any point this season. And we're gonna have to have a little help from the gumps IMO. Beating them is doable, but a lot of things have to line up IMO.

With all due respect - you have no clue or insight into how football is being, or should be played. I'm guessing you are undefeated on NCAA and madden football - but I've read too many threads of yours that turn out to be grossly inaccurate.

Including your wish that FL skull $&*^ us and CBJ and Dobbs be fired.

Bro, he knows more about football than any coach at any level. He also is a master scout for the NFL.
