How dare you mention someone other than Davis, Gruden, Leach, Kiffen or Muschamp on this board! If it's not one of these guys, then they suck! I'll go ahead and shoot down your pick and say NO very nicely before the Vol Nation beats up on you.

All kidding aside, these are the kind of coaches that will get head coaching jobs soon. I bet there are at least 20 coordinators in college football who could succeed at UT it they were just given a chance.

The announcers mentioned during the TT/Oka game this evening that they thought Kevin would be a HC "very soon". I wonder if we've contacted him.

Wilson is a North Carolina guy just like the Chief. I would not have a problem with this hire because we need a sound offense and this guy has produced. There are many arguements that could be made about the pros and cons of hiring a coordinator for a HC. Bottom line is there no guarantee that hiring a HC over a Coordinator is best. Some of the best teams right now are being coached by ex-coordinators who were given a shot. Urban Meyer, Mark Richt, Bob Stoops, Chris Peterson, Kyle Whittingham were given a shot and they have done well. Nick Saban, Butch Davis and Pete Carroll started out from being promoted from coordinator jobs, there are 8 coordinators with 6 being OC that Hamilton should look into because they all have a very sound resume.

after last night we need to give this guy a look at least. He has to be a hot commodity at other schools with what he is doing with the OU offense. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even before last night wasn't his offense #1 in the country?

What we should do is hire Butch Davis, have UNC hire Kevin Wilson and when Davis gets too old to coach THEN we hire Kevin Wilson. It may take some time but it sounds like a success story to me.
