Indiana just fired their head coach Kevin Wilson. If Butch has any sense at all, he should be on the phone right now trying to rope him in. Dude is a great offensive mind. He was OC at Miami in 90s and Oklahoma during their Heydays in 2002-2009 era. Coached players like Heisman winner Jason White, Sam Bradford, Adrian Peterson etc.
With Lincoln Riley of Oklahoma being rumored for lot of HC jobs, Kevin will be on Bob Stoops short list. We would be smart if we could snatch him.
He is really amazing with in-game play calling and creative passing game. We could instantly be favorite for landing a lot of these high praised instate receivers.

Edit: Seems like he had some issues with player handling but no NCAA investigation or anything that could lead to show cause notice.

If he differs in any way from how Butch himself would run the offense, Butch won't hire him.

Butch has only had 2 offensive coordinators - Bajakian (who was with him for years) and his personal friend DeBord. At least on the offensive side of the ball, he won't hire someone who will do anything differently from how he would do it.

Do you enter Butch's mind from an access door on the 7&1/2 floor?

Might want to wait and find out why he's been fired before touting him for OC.

I am mind blown by this one.

He has actually had the Hoosiers somewhat competitive. Something more to the story going on in the Hoosier state.

Probably the best HC Indiana has had in well probably ever.

The word is it may have something to do with his treatment of players. Apparently some have been interviewed by administration.

Butch isn't hiring any coordinator that actually wants to have control of the offense. That's exactly why he hired Debord, to run the offense as a proxy without looking like a micromanager. It's more than likely the same reason Shoop had to try and merge his system with Jancek's defense, because in all actuality it's Butch's system, and he doesn't want anything that he didn't create.

Football hubris of epic proportions with CBJ.

It's obvious what his thought pattern is based on his behavior. Fulmer and countless other coaches have behaved the same way, and it's also been their downfall.

Most HCs have a side of the ball they specialize in. They hire an assistant that runs that side of the ball exactly as they would, and then they typically give the other assistant free reign to run the side of the ball they don't specialize in.

Just got an alert from Bleacher Report that he was fired because he rushed a player back from a concussion too soon. The NCAA will be all over that. He won't be coming here even if Butch did want him.

No way. He's going to be as toxic as Art Briles. He was reportedly fired for player safety issues.

Wow. An insider.

I don't understand why so many people don't understand this. This isn't mike Debord's offense! This is Butch's offense. MD calls the plays. BUTCH's PLAYS! Its no different than when we had Kiffin as coach. We may have had Chaney as an OC BUT it was Kiffin calling the plays. And they were Kiffin's plays.

In this case its Butch's play book.. Not going to change when a new OC comes in. He may tweak a few things like DeBord adding the pulling guard. But the offense will be VERY similar. Fresh eyes and new wrinkles will help don't expect a new play book. It won't happen.

Latest word is, Wilson will be fired "for cause."

Soo, that may put a damper on things

3HL out of Nashville said that history of verbal and physical abuse of players and didnt follow proper concussion protocol made the kid run 6 miles

Jeff Brohm, HC of W. Kentucky. Don't know how much he makes but he might view OC in the SEC as a quicker way to the big time.
