I dont care how much money it takes get him in Knoxville. Much better hire compared to Dooley. Sumlin was Florida's go to guy if Meyer went through with his resignation. Please Hamilton prove everybody wrong and hire Sumlin!

As a Houston fan, Art Briles just got done screwing the program over, please don't make me have two teams get screwed over at the last minute. Sumlin has a great class coming in for Houston.

Is he the best option ever? No.

Is he a hell of a lot better than Dooley? Hell Yes.

He has not signed the contract yet. That is the information I have read. And even if he did sign an extension, so what? Kiffin was under contract. Means nothing these days.

Yeah, funny how other AD's manage to hold on to THEIR coaches isn't it??

I have a feeling that Hamilton didn't want to hold on to him. I bet they were already beginning the search before Kiffin announced he had left. Hamilton is a sharp guy. There is no way this took him completely by surprise. He even hinted at it in the press conference by saying something along the lines of "we always have contingency planes in case something like this arises."

How does a LB in college become an offensive coordinator at Oklahoma. I will admit his background is very impressive. It is interesting that even if they are not house hold names they Sumlin (Stoops) and Dooley (Saben) have "pedigree".

if hiring doobie is his "contingency plan" then UT football is a bigger dumpster fire than it nows appears to be.

I would love to get Sumlin. A buddy of mine in Louisiana says Dooley is the stuff and how they came close to beating LSU and Boise and also that he's a great recruiter. But I want Sumlin.

Sumlin's OC is leaving Houston today to join OK st. He may be more likely to take the job now that he doesn't have an OC or a DC at Houston

Do you have a link confirming this? If this is true then i agree, Sumlin would be very likely to take the job if that is the case IMO.
