I guess the reports of a contract between UT and Shannon were just rumors as well. I don't know how you can have a contract in place with Shannon after Steele and Bennet turned down DOOLEY. No DC wants to coach with him because they are afraid they will be looking for a job next year.

Shannon was Dooley's only hope, no one is going to take this job unless their unemployed.

I believed it, why would a top (big name) DC come in work for CDD when they feel they are better than the head coach... This is BS just like 99.9% of all this other stuff on here. The only DC in the country that might turn down the money we're offering is Chavis. Clemson can't pay Steele close to what we can. And for all you guys who are saying everyone is turning us down because we suck, or because Dooley might get fired, are wrong too. There are provisions in contracts that take care of firings, and financial issues. Us suckin isn't a factor either. Nick Saban would go coach Northeastern Michigan School for the Blind if the money was right.
