Gone from bama:

Barring a last-minute change of heart, Alabama defensive head coach Kevin Steele will be announced as the new defensive coordinator at Clemson as early as this weekend, multiple sources tell the Press-Register.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney told attending media after today's Gator Bowl that he would probably have an announcement upon returning from the bowl site. Swinney may wait until after Friday night's Sugar Bowl between Alabama and Utah for final confirmation.

He will be wearing orange again. You know, being a UT grad, he must at times hated working for BAMA.

They're still talented, especially compared to some of their ACC competition. I think they'll be alright. Expectations were through the roof, and they couldn't deal well with it. Sounds like another team who wears orange I can think of.:peace:

It's a weak conference, so they've certainly got a chance to compete for a division championship...but I'm not sure they're as talented as people make them out to be. Their offense was terrible this year - and the 09 Tigers will somehow have to improve that offense despite the losses of Davis, Kelly, and, likely, Spiller.


Not to mention, they've got road trips at Maryland, NC State, Georgia Tech, and Miami. They get Florida State at home. I think Dabo goes 2-3 over that stretch, which should be enough to keep Clemson out of the ACC championship game again.

Steele was great at Bama and we hate to lose him. I believe he's originally from SC, though a Tennessee graduate. Bama fans wish him the best of luck at Clemson... except when they're playing an SEC school, of course.
