Kevin Steele & Rodney Garner on Pruitt’s Radar

Or, maybe the “ones in the know” only got half the info and Fulmer is really interviewing Steele, Garner and the Bengals castoff, to fill our head coaching vacancy...
GBO!!
I'd say the greater chance is that Fulmer has interviewed Gus, has him waiting in the wings to find out whether we need to pay Pruitt a buyout, and Gus is pushing for those guys to be hired which would galvanize his position. We wouldn't need to buy them out if he'd retain them.

I like a good argument.....especially when I have facts......troll or not.
Thanks for your honesty, that should be the Custom Title for most of VolNation with the modification "especially when I Don't have facts "

That is just not true about the Georgia game. It's a 23-21 game through almost 3 quarters.
Truth of the matter is if UT beats Kentucky like they should have and beats Arkansas, then there would be a lot less angst right now.

even though UT was leading GA, I knew deep down they wouldn’t win. Kind of like the good old days when KY, SC, or Vandy would play Vols close, but you just knew the Bols would win

The best defensive coach hire now available is Muschamp if his pride and buyout terms would allow him to accept the job. He's a bona fide recruiter and motivator, along with being a crappy head coach.......the waters are a bit murky at TN at the moment, so it's not likely that a top recruiter or DC would even be interested.......Steele is overrated and overpaid; he either can't or won't recruit. R. Garner is a great recruiter but not as good with the Xs and Os.
Muschamp just this week turned down Sarks offer to be the DC at Texas....Will might just be content right now to sit back on his stack of millions.

“Eric Gray is believed to be no longer on the team”
What?
Has anyone else heard this? Anyone else reporting this?
Maybe I’ve had my head in the sand over the last few days?🤷‍♂
GBO!!
A poster a week or so ago here posted Gray was back reinstated with the team.....It was interesting to see that about Gray in Exum's article.

That or he knows what a horrible job the DC at Texas is.

Hey now....don't go dissing on Saul. Personally, I'd like a Saul goodman type in my corner. Unorthodox but gets the job done.
Well, if I was making meth, I would too. If I’m trying to fire my coach, probably not...

Over the past 55+ years Tennessee has only had a coaching search after just 3 years of a coach, just ONE time (by their own choice..twice total).

not knowing this, as a Tennessee fan is ignorant.

Please stop with the fake “every 3 years” crap.

But the one time you speak of? It's right now.

Roy Exum is an idiot. He is not well tuned to anything. (I'm not saying anything about Pruitt's future, just about Exum).
Roy's time has passed, if it ever was. What's he writing for now, an online rag? I suspect whoever posted that here is click fishing for Roy who likely isn't even being followed by Mocs fans.

Why don't you just go all in?
If Tennessee had beaten Alabama and Florida their would be no angst right now.

If is not getting it done, and not getting it done is the ticket out the door.

Muschamp seems like a cool dude, honestly. I'd like to have him on our staff (NOT HC). But I think he's gonna enjoy watching his boys' play ball at least until his youngest graduates in a few years.

Of course if we went 12-0 things would be great, but that is a pretty high bar.
I'm just talking about beating Kentucky, who we had outgained by almost 150 yards in the first half.
And maintaining the 13 point halftime lead against Arkansas. If those two things happened we are 5-5.
Not great by any means but people aren't rioting with pitchforks either.

Garner’s wife would probably not let him come back to Knoxville. It was said that she hated it here before. I do not see an advantage in hiring Steele. He is average at best.
I would hope East Tennessee is more tolerant of mixed couples now than when Gardner was here before.

Why would Guz come to this stinking mess of a program with his 20 plus million buyout?

Steele will work for Gus again when Saban joins Kiffin as his special teams coach.
