Kevin Sherrer: 'UT fans are going to love our defense'

I just do not want any of the "Magic Show", stop the run, and defend with your head around. That is not asking much Coach Sherrer.

No sir. Chubb was very good. He however was outperformed his senior season by none other than Sony Michel in ypc if memory serves. Chubb had the luxury of his freshman year running behind a great OL. He however underperformed against very good Ds like Bama where he averaged 3.3 ypc carry against their 1st team D. Richt put him in late where he busted a long one against their 3s and 4s enhancing his stats. THAT is what Chubb really is and was in college. A very good RB that was protected by a coaching staff dedicated to inflating his stats by putting others like Michel out there to do the dirty work early he couldn't get done. Sony Michel was on the depth chart ahead of Chubb their freshman year before he got injured and in my mind was a better overall RB at the end of their careers. Chubb their senior season had more overall yardage but Michel per a stat you usually reference for UT backs did more with less and carried the rock for more ypc. Chubb, great? No freakin' way! Very good? Way!

Agree that by the end of last season, Michel was the better, more dynamic back and in the interest of being consistent, the yards per carry stat backs that up. Michel’s 7+ yards per carry (something Chubb accomplished prior to his bad knee injury his sophomore year....311 carries for 2294 yards, 7.4 ypc his first 19 games) was beyond outstanding....but Chubb’s 6 yards per carry last season was still very good in and of itself.

I believe Michel being chosen sooner than Chubb will further the point that Michel finished his college career, in the latter part of last season, as the better back....but of course, he didn’t have the gruesome knee injury that Chubb did. Still generally disagree with regards to Chubb....I think he was a much better back than you do, no worries. Appreciate the civil debate.

So when we have an elite defense next year (top 10 in the country) will you admit you were wrong?

Because there is no doubt in my mind with Butch Jones finally gone that our players will finally play up to their talent level.

Our personnel has been elite since 2015. Our coaching has been the problem. PERIOD.

Jeremy Pruitt will expose just how bad of a coach Butch Jones was this season. Just wait and see.

Have you yet to admit you've been wrong with your predictions instead of making excuses? And you're wanting someone else to admit when they may be wrong. Lol.
