Kevin Garnett to Celtics?

Chicago, Cleveland, Miami, Detroit, and Orlando. If healthy, Washington and New Jersey are every bit as good as the Celtics. There's your answer. You'll be wasting your time if you post any further questions for me. I made Freak a promise and avoiding the likes of you is how I intend to assure that I adhere to said covennant.

Amazing restraint. Just don't drink and post, and you will be ok Hat.

Other than Bosh the Raptors have nothing, no way they are going to be better than the Celtics. Look at their roster.
Toronto's style of play is also an advantage for them. They did win their division last season even with many of their main contributors missing parts of the season much like New Jersey. Their roster is very young and I as a fan expect them to compete for another division title with New Jersey and Boston.

StunnA, unless the Celts get a point and a bench they will be not be in the hunt, the season is to long. If they sign a PG and a couple role players it will be different but as of now, no way!

Rondo had a solid rookie. He won't be an all star but if he just creates shots for the big three they'll be fine.

The Cavs had no depth and made the finals. The Celtics can do the same.

Yes the Cavs did. But you have to admit that making the finals without a bench is the exception and not the rule. Can the Celts do it? There is a chance of course but the odds are not in their favor unless they add bench and a get a better PG or better PG play.

No doubt. Regardless I don't think any team from the east will win a title.

The C's did sign Eddie House yesterday... hello depth

BTW Did anyone figure out what their salary cap situation looks like to see if they even have money to add depth?

I was listening to the radio yesterday, ESPN I think it was, and the analyst made a good point IMO. He thought the Celtics might be a middle of the road regular season team (like a 5 seed) but make a good playoff run. The big three could take over a series with their scoring, which I can see happening, but over 82 games they might struggle at times.

WHen I said bench I should have been more clear. I meant QUALITY bench. The Celts will be his 8th or 9th team and I doubt he even averaged 10 ppg or 5 assists.
I stand by my statement.

I was joking about Eddie House adding depth. He averaged like a point a game last year. A 10/5 guy off the bench would be very good!

Depth in the Play offs is a big deal. That is the difference in making it to the Conf Championship or finals. I know the Cavs did it but that truly is the exception.

Again I totally agree, but the east has been weak for years. The Nets teams that made the finals didn't really have much depth. A little more than the Celtics, but the top players for the C's are better than Martin, Kidd and RJ.

I guess my thinking is anyone from the east has a shot to get there but not win.

Guys, this is all you need to know about the east. The Cavs with Lebron James are almost exactly like the eastern version of the Lakers... And they went to the Finals. All you have to do is put 2-3 good players on the same team (bench depth doesn't matter) and you have a realistic shot of making it to the finals.

Either Miami or Detroit will be in the finals this year. I think the Cavs or the Celts will be lucky to get passed the first round.

I would like to see the Heat get there but I think they are too old. Shaq isn't the same, Gary Payton has been done for years, Walker and Williams are okay, Eddie Jones is basically done too.

:lolabove: just thought seeing hat be so wrong was funny
I think there were a lot wrong, including me.

I don't thin anyone expected Powe and Rondo to play so well or the group to play such solid D. Guess Pierce and Allen decided D was the route, but nothing prior would have indicated that coming.
