Bye week on the boards so it's a little slow, but I got to looking at UK's schedule and the bye week for us seems to have come at really good time..

We just went thru a gauntlet ourselves but with a weeks rest and Kentucky playing a Georgia team looking to bounce back and having to turn around and come to Neyland, it could really benefit us.

UK had a bye week early in season and will have gone thru this string of consecutive games: Vandy, South Carolina, ULM, @LSU, Mississippi State, @Mizzou, Georgia and then @Tennessee.

They catch a bye after the game against us, but that's quite the gauntlet to go thru and they have to come HERE at the tail end of it. Gotta think that has to play in our favor..

the key to stoping their offense is good safety play. that happens and we'll blow them out. but the way and agles our safeties take sometimes.......whew

They are going to walk into a cauldron in Knoxville. I think its going to be packed and loud.
I bet you're right. Saturday's dramatic win in Columbia has given our football program such a stupendous boost, I think a lot of us are still in a slight state of shock. I wouldn't want to be in UK's situation. 'Bet they can't wait til this weekend's over. Another excellent game by the offense and a rested defense, aided by a revived crowd, should offer extra momentum...and that's leading up to Mizzou's coming down the next week. C'mon Vols. Don't pay attention to all these posts too much and focus on a tired but overachieving bunch of wildcats. I'm guessing they're going to throw in the kitchen sink, just like we did against the chickens. Maybe Dobbs can pull a Cam Newton act. It's not impossible.

Cats in ktown, let me enlighten you, when you step on the field, the vols are going to frighten you, take a orange and have a slice or 2, BC were already inside, were gunning for a bowl so just enjoy the ride as we beat and stomp on you stoops call brother and say I feel sorry for you when you come to ktown BC cats and sooners going to get beat down

Hopefully, KY is getting a little dose of reality.

UT had to play Ole Miss then Bama... KY got off to a great start and won 5 games.

But they played 3 weaklings then Vandy and got SC at home.

KY has since lost 3 in a row, hopefully Georgia is pissed, wears them out and they come into Knox banged up. UT should still have better athletes. Its a must win. Its at home. JUST GO DO IT!!

Bye weeks are great for injured players but sometimes they can be detrimental. As long as we don't walk out onto the field expecting to win, instead expecting a good match-up then I think we'll be ok.

I'm ready for the days when we don't even have to talk about these last three games because they're gimmics

Yes, the kitties are going to feel the power of a rested, reinvigorated bunch of Vols. On the field and in the stands. With Dobbs piloting the offense, I look for the Vols to put up about 38 while the rested defense only gives up 17.

We are catching UK at a great time for us and horrible time for them. Gauntlet is a good way to describe it. They've played some tough tough teams and they've got UGA coming up pissed off and going to take it out on them, then they've got to come to Neyland for pretty much a night game.

Cat's & Dog's this weekend, then Cat's and O'l Smokey's Vol's the next weekend.
Go Vol's

Pretty much the worst timing we could face UT. We've lost 3 games in a row, two rough losses, one a big blowout. Now we play a UGA team that has gone up and down and is due for an up this weekend. Hopefully we play UGA close, maybe pull of an upset. Nevertheless, UT coming off the win, then getting a bye, will be licking their chops to get a 6th win against UK. Until last week I wasn't sure if UT could do it, but right now UT definitely is favored. Unless we beat UGA convincingly then that doesn't change.

UK's schedule was easy upfront, allowing them to start strong and get to 5-1 without playing stiff competition. They got a lot of positive buzz, based on beating below average teams. Now they're playing good teams and losing.

The Vols were the exact opposite. Our schedule was brutal upfront, causing us to struggle against highly ranked teams. We got a lot of negative buzz, based on tough losses to top teams. Now we're playing manageable teams and winning.

Having UK and Mizzou in Neyland with Team 118 finally starting to gel favors the Vols, IMO.

I think your posts are always more than fair. You have a rare ability to put your fandom aside when evaluating the likelyhood of wins and losses. However, most CFB talking heads aren't counting UK out, and I'm considering this to have the makings of a potentially close game. I agree that it really depends on how UK performs against UGA.
