I can see Kentucky stepping up with enough of an offer to hire Petrino. Hell, they have a track record of not having a problem with hiring low character coaches ala Calipari & Gillispie...

there is no way they could get Petrino. He won't go to a school that doesn't support its football program. he is a D1ck not and idiot.

Maybe Tee Martin will come back, UK brain trust Fulmer, Tee, Sanders and we will give the Sal at no extra charge. Sounds good.

Not gonna happen. They will go after a lesser name coach. Not going to pay alot of money for a football coach. Probaly go after the Western Ky coach.

Dirk Koetter, Dykes, or Cut at UK would be my guess. Fulmer would be interesting but couldnt see him walking into that situation

UK will all ways have a problem on the football program,as far as coaches go,everybody knows there a basketball first school ,of course Petrino doesn't have many options left to burn

Petrino will have better options, and I am not saying he would not take it, but I am almost certain UK won't go that route. Billy Gillespie still not popular round these parts due to similiar personalities/incidents. UK doesnt have history of being bold with football hires and I expect them to hire one of 3 I mentioned above, all who would be solid hires imo. I thik they should offer Tuberville a ton of dough, jmo. Plenty of jobs will be open soon, and I think Petrino gets one, just not UK. I could see him at a place like Cal(if open), Auburn(obviously) or Miami if Golden were to leave. I dont know jack though, so who knows.

I think Petrino will go to Auburn or UK. Not even sure he'll demand a ton of bucks on the front end-- I bet he would love to get back in the game and kick some butt in the SEC. With all these job openings, he'll top some lists. I don't see UT offering, though.

Petrino is not on their AD's list, at least not at this time. However, they are considering the ATL Falcons OC... and Fulmer is considered a "dark horse."

I don't think their Tennessee trained AD is that stupid.

Actually have heard it mentioned multiple times that mutual interest is there.

I'd say that Fulmer wants back into coaching enough to be willing to do this. If he has ambitions of winding up with a fer-real football school again, this would at least get him back in the action.

And btw, even though I was ready for him to go, as it seemed to me very obvious that he had either lost control of the players or lost the energy to smack them down and make them behave, I'd bet that he's got the fire back in his belly. (Probably shouldn't make a joke about there being plenty of room in the belly...)

Anyway, I've lost track of the buyout: if this happened, would we finally save some money? In other words, how many years (months?) are left on his buyout? Would this work out to our benefit at all?

The first thing I thought about was Fulmer. They went after the Tennessee players from Alcoa and they got Randy Sanders. He was also looking pretty good at the Alabama game, too--Much healthier than our poor Dooley.
