But from what I read on here any federal/government official ,ie: coach, who has been fired/terminated, that school has to wait 14 days to announce a new representative of that school. So is this a federal thing or state? Just trying to clear up the confusion that if it is indeed Gruden our coach, God willing, and it's a federal law then how can they do what we can't. Sorry I know touchy subject. Just trying to understand

There is no federal law bout the hiring of football coaches. Each state university will have their own rules. TN hired Dooley in only 4 days so there is obviously a way to do it in less time even if a 14 day rule exists. There are often exemptions for certain jobs.

But wasn't Joker fired after the UK vs Vandy game on Nov 3rd? He just elected to coach the rest of the games. They've had more time to look for a new coach.

Good hire by the Cats. Honestly, you can't hate UK football they are so bad and as long as they don't beat Tennessee I wish them nothing but the best. Hell, maybe they can start beating some of the Mizzous and Vandys of the world.

I find it funny that I had not heard his name mentioned one time for the job.....yet here they are hiring him.....I wonder if this means we are going to hire someone not being mentioned at all like this guy...

I thought Joker was fired a few weeks ago and choose to coach the last 2 games. If that is the case, then it has been the 14 days.

Its been 14 days. He was fired the Sunday before Dooley.

I think it has been 14 days since UK fired Joker. He was fired on the Sunday following their loss to Vandy, and they lost to Vandy the week before UT lost to Vandy. UT lost to vandy 10 days ago, so UK lost to Vandy 17 days ago, so UK fired Joker 16 days ago.

I hope this guy isn't the next James Franklin. This could be a good hire. I hope we get on the ball and get our guy soon. Any truth to the rumors that we will hear something by Thursday or Friday afternoon.

Joker was fire around 4 November just allowed to finish season.
