Kentucky lost again

Momcilivic will get hype, and they'll land in most top 20s. But he's tissue soft, and let much smaller Bishop Boswell just bully him. He also isn't a very good defender and doesn't rebound. He is a spot up guy that was 3rd in the pecking order for Iowa State and generates most of his offense off spot up bombs. The odds of him shooting close to 50 percent from 3 again aren't great. He randomly improved by 10 percentage points as a junior last year. A return to normal is more likely. Him as your 6-7 million dollar centerpiece is a questionable move.

Pope probably had no choice but to pay him insane amount of money considering he whiffed on a lot of his targets in the portal and high school.

There’s a lot of intense pressure on him to make a deep run or else, their fanbase will ride him out of town, fast.

Agree completely, but what choice did Pope have? If he loses Momcilivic to Louisville, that lunatic fan base will have strung him up before the season even begins. The price is ludicrous for what is essentially no more than a spot up sniper, but it bought Pope until next spring unless that group melts down during the SEC season again.

His FT% is pretty good. I think banking on the 3PT% being 50% is not likely but I would expect 45%. I agree that he’s just a very good spot up shooter that Rick already found a good strategy against though

I always love the dumb ways players try to explain why they portal to a new team in the NIL era when we all know it’s just because of money. But no one will ever admit it.

Still….LOL Kentucky. YHTSI.

Interesting approach. Is this because he’s incapable of doing anything else?

He’s their most efficient option by far at shooting, so if he shoots 10 threes, that would be like 15 pts a game. It makes sense to want that. Making it happen is another story

I would be happy with Lundblade shooting 15 times a game if he keeps shooting 40%.

I was mostly being sarcastic. Should have used blue font. He’s a very one dimensional player.

I think he may be at this level, but he showed he was more than just a shooter at the Belmont level.
Believe he was talking about MM who I think really benefits from being on a team with someone else who consistently requires a double. Without that, he doesn’t seem to really be able to create any shots for himself.

Yeah I was referring to MM and Pope saying the entire plan for him is to just shoot 10 threes a game. He’s a great player, but Boswell basically neutralized him in our matchup so Pope better have a more nuanced gameplan for him than that.

For the record, “dates back to” does not mean “it ended then.” It means it started then. I notice all the KY reports repeat the phrase that Kriisa’s scheme “dates back to” his time at WV.

What was this?
The Basketball Tournament. It’s an annual prize tournament in which any team can enter. It has evolved over the years into college alumni teams and sponsored teams.

Tennessee had a team a couple of years ago, but they did not do well. Chris Lofton, Lamonte Turner, and Wayne Chism played for the team.
