I think that Bruce breaking out the orange blazer for the first time this season warrants a little basketball on the main board...

UT vs UK for the 206th time!

  • Through the games of Jan. 11, Tennessee led the SEC in scoring (84.3 ppg) and rebounding (43.1 rpg) while ranking third in assists (17.6 apg).
  • Tennessee is 10-0 this season when it holds its opponent under 80 points. The Vols are 0-4 when the opposition scores 80 or more.
  • UT owns an 8-1 record when Wayne Chism records a double-double (4-1 this season).
  • The Vols' bench has outscored the opponent's bench in 13 of UT's 14 games this season.
  • Tennessee is 50-3 at Thompson-Boling Arena since the start of the 2005-06 season.
  • The Vols are 28-1 in non-conference home games under Bruce Pearl.
  • Bruce Pearl is 18-9 against ranked teams while at Tennessee.
  • Under Bruce Pearl, UT is 80-7 when leading or tied with five minutes left in the game.
  • UT is 57-6 when scoring 80 or more points under the direction of Bruce Pearl.
  • Tennessee has an all-time record of 1,432-912-2 in 100 seasons of basketball.
  • UT's 635 regular-season SEC victories rank third all-time in the SEC. Only Kentucky and Alabama have won more league games.
  • Tennessee is 250-87 in 22 seasons in Thompson-Boling rena. The Vols have posted winning home records in 18 of their 21 full seasons in the facility.
  • Tennessee is the only Division I school ever to rank in the top five nationally in attendance for football, men's basketball and women's basketball in the same year. The Vols turned the trick for the fifth time in 2007-08.

Go Vols!!!

Also have to find a way to actually play a little bit of defense...If we do not it could be a long long night.

I have always heard that we are the SEC team that has beaten Kentucky the most of any all time...or it could be any team all time...anyone know if this is true??

GO VOLS!

I really miss John Ward calling the Kentucky - Tennessee basketball games...He was at his best during those games...I remember a call he did before a game once...He said : and now the Wildcats of Kentucky will be introduced and the UT student section is holding up newpapers like they are not interested in the wildcat lineup, But I am sure some of them are peeking around the corners to get a look at bigggg Sam Bowie and Mel Turpin :eek:lol:

Today is also the first Wear Your Orange Blazer to Work Day!!!
Of course, it had to rain down here. I'm also finding that nobody in this office follows basketball like I do.

I work with UK fans. "How many points Meeks gonna hang on yall?" "Patterson is gonna dominate Gism!"

I HATE UK

I live about 7 miles south of Lexington. I'm totally surrounded by UK fans. They say this is a must win for them. Anticipation is high here in kitty kat country.
