Interesting analysis, still just unbelievable we don't have a Final 4.

Pretty good consistency though.

Pretty impressive considering the black hole we flew the ship into that swallowed us for a decade
We were never down for a decade during that stretch though. We had 4 bad years with Buzz, and then three bad years with Tyndall and Rick’s first two years.

It is kinda crazy to think we are 13th with zero Final 4s and only three Elite 8s, and then UCONN is just a few spots ahead with 6 championships.

Devoe's last few seasons through the Wade and O'Niell years can be called a down decade. Having an indifferent AD and meddling politicians didn't do the basketball program any favors.

Wade Houston was a Lamar Alexander dictated hire. Dickey should have hired Leonard Hamilton instead. It would have been different though had Wade been able to recruit better players to play along with Allan.

Had Lamar not been appointed to be the UT president (a political favor - he wasn’t a competent UT prez) Wade from Blount County (Alcoa) would probably never have been installed as the UTBB coach by Lamar from Blount County (Maryville). Lamar also filled up Andy Holt Tower to pay of his political favors.

Those years aren’t a part of the time period they used. It only goes back to 97, which was Green’s first year and a tournament season

Ray Mears holds a special place in my memory. I’m happy that he served as AD at UT-Martin for 10 years after his retirement from coaching. His teams ran through the T out onto the court before Dickey adopted it for football. He loved Rocky Top and asked the band to play it more often. Big Orange Country salutes you, Ray. Eat all the green jello you want in heaven.
