Kenny ONeal transferring

This is just me,and I'm probably thinking too much into this, but does anyone else think that maybe Fulmer "helped" him make the decision? Maybe Fulmer knows Warren is going to get in and needed an extra scholly? I know I'm probably looking into this too far, but does anyone else agree that might have something to do with it?

i read in the govolsxtra article that we could lose a scholarship because of something with O'Neal. Can't remember what it is though

I have to assume this relates to APR. (academic progress rate) I hadn't heard the O'Neal situation hurting us there. I certainly hope not.

it hurts us double-time if he leaves without being in "good academic standing."

I can understand a high schooler coming in as a top recruit and being a bust. But how is a guy who has been playing on the college level and being a top JUCO recruit going to be such a bust?
I think Brent Schaefer could probably answer that best.

Wonder why they didn't try O'Neal on defense. Not as many plays to learn, and you don't have to have as good of hands but speed is a premium. Seems a better fit for him....

This is a mystery to me also. I figured he would come in last year and make an immediate impact at receiver. How he could be such a bust after playing at FSU as a freshman and being a JUCO standout is beyond me.
Dumber than a rock under water in a hurricane?

That did work out pretty well with Wade. Too afraid of contact? Did O'Neal ever play any defense? Vinson for instance came here as a WR but I'm pretty sure I remember he had a pretty decent defensive resume also.

I say he plays for some Div2 or Div3 school for one year(if that) and then declares for the nfl draft.

Wade didn't seem like a guy that was afraid of contact. I don't blame the coaches for not trying Kenny on defense. If he's not smart enough to figure out the WR position, he won't be smart enough to play any position in the defensive back 7.

I think he was asking if KO was afraid of contact and not implying Wade was.

Correct. I suppose I could have made that a bit clearer though. He may have a point on the brains. If it was just a question of hands then a shot a D might make sense. If he just can't figure out what he's doing on the field it likely doesn't matter. Just hate to see a 5* guy come in such expectations but leave with such ignominy.
