I remember when I was younger and I would watch other teams' games just to predict what we would be ranked the next week. I look forward to doing that again...

Can't wait to hear that collective exhale of relief after the Florida game. I'll be there for that.

When I was little I remember love getting the paper that had the new CFB rankings, and I thought it was always the Sunday paper, and seeing where Tennessee was. Vary rarely were they not ranked. This last decade has sucked.

That's an awesome comment from a member of the team. We as a hungry fanbase have understood the struggles and have just wanted to be able to say "Tennessee is back." But there's just something different about it to hear it coming from the mouth of a player. Feels good man

We went from that to seeing if we received any votes. I believe those days are back

My sixth grade math teacher was diehard UT. She would tell us " if Tennessee wins on Saturday y'all won't have any homework on Monday"! I've been hooked on UT ever since !! I know the term " I bleed such and such color" gets thrown around a lot, but I hurt when WE lose ! I've been all Vol since 1986 and I'm not about to stop now ! The Kiffin-Dooley era has been heartbreaking ! I'm excited to see Tennessee football take its rightful place among college football royalty ! It's where we belong ! Let's go all in for our program ! I joke with my wife all the time about " being Kentucky born, and Tennessee breed, and when I die I'll be Tennessee dead", but I'm serious about being committed to this program, and I'll continue to support it any way i can !! GBO

I remember the one night in my life I worried about it. It was after Tennessee had beaten Arkansas, and some of us were sticking around waiting to hear how Ohio State's game was going. When we heard they had lost, we knew the pollsters would be forced to rank Tennessee No. 1, and the odds of them screwing us out of a spot in the championship game was near zero.

Now the AP poll means less than it did back then. It carried weight then toward bowl placement, but the selection committee does not regard it at all. Or so they say. Probably because how untrustworthy the polls have been at times.

Have fun with it though. I will look at polls the same way I look at egg prices in China. Hardly worth the wear and tear on the hen's ass.

I wasn't sure where to post this so I apologize for getting off topic.

My friends and I (all from the midwest) travel to an SEC game each year and this year we are coming down for the TN - Bama game.

What should we put on the must see/do list while in Knoxville for the game?

Well I would say the fact that you're going to be in Neyland on the Third Saturday in October means you've done one of the best things to do in Knoxville already! But check out Market Square downtown, Worlds Fair Park is pretty neat too. If you can get a seat go have dinner Friday at Calhouns on the river.
