Evidently, Harper's colleagues believe she can coach.

I love that she won the Kay Yow award. To bad their is not a Debbie Yow award she could win. Overcoming an AD with an agenda to achieve at a high level. Maybe a Mike Hamilton award on the men's side for the same achievement.

That's a fair point. Holly did receive Rookie COY honors after her first season.

Btw, the Kay Yow Award is given to the coach who demonstrates outstanding character on and off the court. Coupled with a Top 25 final ranking, MVC COY award, and tournament success this year with almost all underclassmen, those would appear to be solid recruiting credentials to reassure both players and parents that they would be in good hands.

She got the Kay Yow award who coached at NC St. Kellie got fired from NC St. I guess that was the ironic part she got the award named after the NC state coach she replaced but was fired from.

KJH followed Kay Yow at NC State, which for that school was like following HCPS -- except Kay Yow's sister was the AD. Harper got fired by said sister after a few years.

For Harper to win the Kay Yow award is just ... all sorts of ironic. And delicious.
