The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with veteran free agent wide receiver Kelley Washington, according to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com.

Per the report, which cited a source, Washington will sign a contract Friday upon successful completion of a physical.

We’ve separately confirmed with Washington’s agent, Chad Speck, that Washington has verbally agreed to terms with the Ravens following an impressive tryout at last weekend’s minicamp.

Washington is expected to sign a one-year contract.

“He’s going to sign with Baltimore,” Speck said. “Kelley decided a few minutes ago. He views it as a great opportunity and a great organization. He’s excited to get started.”

Washington is a former Cincinnati Bengals third-round draft pick who caught one pass last season for the New England Patriots, blocking a punt.

In six NFL seasons, Washington has caught 73 career passes for 896 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Ravens also tried out Jerry Porter and Tab Perry at their full-team, mandatory minicamp.

“I’m just grateful for the Ravens to give me an opportunity to come and try out,” Washington said Sunday. “Just being a veteran, I want to get into a great situation. I want to play for a contending team.

“It’s just going to be a situation where I sit down with my agent and see what’s the best situation for me and how I can get on the field and play some wide receiver, continue to help out on special teams and help them win. I’m big and I like to get in the middle and get dirty and just be a big, physical target. I think I can bring that to the team, but that’s up to management to determine.”

This is a nice marriage. Kelley Washington could do so much more for a team than just play special teams.

I know I could look it up...anyone know how old he is now?

I think he was twenty-four his freshman year, and he played two or three years? So he should be about thirty-three or so.

He was a beast in college, not so much in the pros. I hope he gets a shot and does well in Balto.

he's only 29-30yo (went to school with my wife)

I guess they gave him a better offer than the Redskins. Best of luck to him.

Yeah he caught some balls against the worst secondary in the SEC at the time. That was one of the only weaknesses on that squad. They made a respectable WR look like an NFL Pro Bowler.

he still had over 1000yds receiving that season (which is top 5 in UT history). UT has played some terrible secondaries but no one has put up the numbers he did that night.

It's hard to imagine, but Ray Lewis no longer has the most ridiculous celebration dance in Baltimore.

He had a good season. I'm not taking that away from him, but that game in particular should not be used as the indicator of how good or bad he was.
