Keith jackson and brent musberger

We can only hope that one day Keith Jackson is struck with an affliction of the vocal chords.
The greatest day is sports is the day he retired. The worse day is when he came back.

I remember a bama game where he said something like "it's AAAALAAAABAMAAAAA against tennessee..

no, his last game was in 2006; last game he called was the Texas - USC game

see what you meant though; looked like he was originally intending to retire at the end of that but rescinded and did limited television cfb broadcasts after that

Yea, I hated him for that crap. He made a big deal out of retiring and made John Wards retirement an also ran side story. Then when football season rolled around, there he was, never missed a game.

I've all ways hated Musberger,it seems like he thinks the Rose Bowl has all ways been the only game worth watching,He is a west coast homer for sure

When FSU was good, Jackson would kill me with his comments. FSU was all all he ever talked about, even if he was calling another game.

Jackson did the play by play for the 86 sugar bowl, But IIRC Musberger was in the studio. I remember his stupid line right before the commercial preceding Kickoff. "They are gonna test them deep, Test them early, And Testaverde may". I was only 16 and I remember thinking how stupid that line was. I have had no respect for either one since that game. The way they called it you would have thought they were in house UM homers.
I watched my dvd of that game earlier tonight, and I got just as mad at Jackson as I did the day the game was played, and every other time I've watched it. On a side note, Frank Broyles has got to be the worst color analyst in cfb broadcasting history.

We had John Ward back then.....There was no need to listen to the commentators on TV and I didn't....

Sadly, in this day and age its very hard to watch any sport on tv while listening to the commentator on the radio. With HDTV and regular channels, there's a lag between the game and the radio to the point where its not worth it to listen to the radio. In HD, its sometime 10-12 seconds. I have a sync up radio and it still takes a combination of pausing on the dvr and adjusting the delay on the radio to get Bob and the tv in sync. Sometimes its not worth it.

sadly, my first memory of watching UT on TV was the kickoff classic vs. Iowa. half of my life I thought Jackson was great. only when I grew older did I find him obnoxious and unbearable.

Greve is right, you can't sync up the radio broadcast anymore...especially in football. for some reason, the bball games are a bit better.

Keith Jackson spent the SEC championship game thrashing Peyton Manning. He was calling the Rose Bowl with the "deserved" winner Woodson.
Mushmouthberger must have gotten into Bill Anderson's bottle at a UT game he called. He was talking about Tennessee's finest product Jack Daniels Tennessee sipping whiskey.

On Jeff Powell's long run Broyles comment was "It was a natural hole Keith." My thought was whenever Miami lines up in that D just run that play and nobody has to even block if there is a natural hole there. Broyles was truly horrible.

I definitely remember that in a bad way. Lost some respect for him there.

He was presented with a bunch of retirement gifts and everybody tearfully smooched him up all year...only to see him still blabbering the next season just like he never mentioned retirement. What a putz.
