Here's how it goes...
Each week, I'll change the poll. The most popular album of last week is "kept". The other one is "dropped". The dropped one will not show up for at least 4 weeks. The kept one stays until they lose out, then they are dropped.

This week's albums:

Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd OR
Abbey Road by The Beatles.

And by the way...
No changing your vote. You can only change when the new album is introduced.

Have fun!

Abbey Road is my 2nd all time favorite Beatles album. Dark Side isnt even in my top 3 Floyd albums.

Abbey road had nice production, two of George's best songs, and come together. Octopuses garden is nice too but the rest of the songs just don't do it for me. Dark side of the moon isn't the best Floyd album but I can pleasantly listen to the whole album

This is kinda where I was with my choice. Abbey Road's top songs are better than anything on DSotM, but overall I would take DSotM.

I would argue that Wish You Were Here is equally as good.

DSotM might have a long reign here. It's the PF casuals favorite album, and then the PF hardos like me will vote it over just about anything.

I'm a PF diehard. I own and have listened to it all. Darkside is my favorite

I was a kid in the 70s, so I never saw them live, but I have seen Roger Waters live a couple of times. Even seen Brit Floyd a few times.

It's my favorite band all time but I honestly don't listen to them too much anymore. I had some **** I went through in my 20s and listened to PF a lot, and it kinda ruined it. For example, I was in college on a landscape crew where we listened to PF and one of my crew members died of an OD. One of my closest pals from HS died a month later. When I listen now, it takes me back to that and other ****. It sucks.

Saw them in '94 Oakland Coliseum. I'm not religious but that was as close to a religious experience as I will ever get.

I said it in some other thread but there is more that goes into an album than just the songs. the two biggest things that come to mind:

-what I call "theme", or a common thread going thru all of the songs, makes the whole more than the individual songs.
-release setting, if one album was more cutting edge than another its going to get favor, at least with me.

another would be the composition/order. some/most albums work better if you hear it in the given order.

for reference my favorite Pink Floyd album is Animals. But my favorite song on that album Pigs, wouldn't be in my top 3 songs on most other Floyd albums. I say that just because of themes they pull off in Animals, and not just the overt references to animals. to me it "flows" better when you sit down and listen to the whole thing. imo it can be listened to as one long song rather than a bunch of individual songs that happened to be recorded together. and to me that makes it pretty much my top "album" ever, even if other albums have more hits.
