I think Tennessee stays at 3 and Kansas and Duke trade places.

IDK, Tennessee may move up to 2. We'll find out soon enough.

Kansas has been playing with fire a bit lately. I think it's almost a sure thing that Tennessee moves up to number two.

EDIT - And I think we'll actually get a few more first place votes, too.

I really don't think Kansas will stay at number two, even accounting for this argument. Some time has passed since that game, and I think rankings do tend to have more of a recency bias. The Jayhawks haven't been overly impressive of late.

I think Kansas might stay in the top five, but I could easily see Michigan or Virginia (or both) passing them up.

Vandy beat ASU and I think that will drop Kansas to 3, plus the guy that doesn't vote you in until you play a tough road game will probably vote them 7th. Vols are going to get a bunch of #1 votes I feel, ACC is brutal and Duke should lose again. Looking at the schedules it's POSSIBLE we could be playing as the #1 team in the country when we roll into Lexington which would be a 1st for the Vols. That will be the biggest crowd in Lexington history if it plays out.

There is a ton of basketball to be played between now and when we go to UK. That's not until Feb 16.

Upsets happen but we'll be favored in every game until then, and most games by a large margin. This is a veteran group with an alpha leader in Barnes at the moment. Barring injuries I think it's a pretty good chance it happens.

I don't think so, they are a great team and certainly deserved but Tn passes the eye candy test much like Duke does. I think we are #2 or #1 until we lose.

Tennessee will be number 2 because when we beat Gonzaga, they beat Duke and Duke moved ahead of them in the polls.

TN #2 or D allows us to win even when we don’t shoot well. We can also defend the 3 well so a hot shooting 3 point team won’t get us. If we loose it will be a night wher we get in foul trouble. The depth Barns is creating will help there and we need turner back.

Kansas lost on an AWAY game. Even though we lost to Kansas, they had to beat us in OT and on a NEUTRAL court. Would TN beat ASU away is the question? I think we would. It’s a bad loss for KS then a win over TN.

We were #2 in cbssports 25 + 1. We should be #1 in that poll. That is exciting. We are living in wonderful basketball times

I see lots of chatter about VOLS being new #1 but its gonna be Duke...they've played 5 ranked teams to our 2
