LOL. Nope. Hurd is better than any of those RBs in Alabama.
How many times do you guys have to be told NFL ain't college.
Fournette and Cook are getting exposed right now. And they were the talk of college football. Kamara was barely used and he's the talk of the combine.
Some guys are simply just great in college while others are great in the NFL.
Jalen Hurd just has problems. But as a NFL talent he is better than any of those overrated Alabama RBs.
So all those idiot GMs and NFL guys who know nothing , who don't remotely have the brilliance and acumen that you do.....they knew that AK isn't a burner, while you proclaimed he was on the cusp of winning his own island via his world class speed?
I'm shocked I tell ya, shocked.
40 yards isn't that long. I made the mistake of thinking that elite initial burst would be strong enough to carry him to an elite 40 time. Obviously that didn't happen.
Still doesn't change my opinion of him. I always knew his top end speed wasn't that great. He got caught from behind way too much on tape. But those were typically runs where he's already more than 40 yards downfield.
I was hoping he could get past 40 yards before his lack of great top end speed exposed itself.
More quick than fast. That is what the tape showed.
I was just hoping his intial explosion could have lasted for 40 yards.
Still the best RB in this draft.
40 yards doesn't show world class speed. It shows world class acceleration.
Usain Bolt isn't the fastest man on earth over 40 yards. Just look at the Olympics where he only ever pulls away from the pack at the 60 meter mark.
??
Kamara has probably had the best combine of all the RBs. You do know there are other events than the 40 right? He has only secured his position as a late 1st/ early 2nd pick.
More quick than fast = great first step explosion but not necessarily great top end speed
That is what his outstanding vertical and broad jump numbers show.
Alvin has exceptional acceleration to reach his top end speed really quick. That is great fit getting through holes in the NFL. His top end speed just isn't fast enough to pull away from guys at the second level.
If you want me to say I was wrong then here it is. I was WRONG in thinking Alvin could run a 4.3. I was hoping the 40 was short enough that his lack of elite top end speed wouldn't be exposed but it ultimately was.
I'll still predict Dobbs to run 4.4 and Malone to a 4.3. Hopefully Cam also gets into the 4.3s.
The Browns having a player as #1 on their board is like saying Kim Kardashian has Soren Kierkegaard #1 on her board of best philosophers.

Chris Johnson probably can't run a sub-10 second 100 meters. But he could probably beat Usain Bolt over 40 yards.
World class speed = sub 10 second 100 meters
World class acceleration = 4.3 40
Wrong. Bolt's advantage is that he can maintain his top speed for longer than his opponents. He doesn't continue to accelerate down the length of the track.

Regardless of what you wanna call it over 40 yards Bolt isn't the fastest man on earth. As evidenced by the fact in the 100 he's always in the middle of the pack early on.
Chris Johnson could probably beat him in a 40.
I'm going to go on record and say you'll be wrong on all these 40 times.
Dobbs 4.5-4.6
Malone 4.5
Cam 4.5-4.6
How is that any different than any other rumor going around right now about where guys will go?
Its all hearsay.
Sure it's all hearsay, but do I really have to explain the difference between a rumor started by internet poster, BrownzDawgPound4Lyfe, and a rumor from a reputable source like Mike Mayock, for example, who has actual real, tangible connections inside these NFL front offices?
If you don't see the difference, let me know and I'll slow down.
