If he gets a draftable eval from the board, he'll get invited to the combine...that and the pro days will determine his draft position. Only special RBs are getting drafted in the first round these days (since 2007 :))...and not ALL of them. I personally think he'd benefit from another year of high profile SEC play...unless he gets hurt...then everybody says "too bad" and that's almost as good as a NFL career for the Marcus Lattimore's of the world. Hope he stays...understand if he doesn't.

I sure would hate to loose him for next year, but with his talent and not wear and tear on his legs, I can see a nfl team taking him in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th round

IMO, he doesn't want to come out the same year as Hurd. I believe Kamara will leave this year and Hurd will leave after next year. RB's have a short shelf life in the NFL

Kamara would likely do well at his pro day/Combine.

Also considering he hasn't had the work load many of these other backs entering the draft have had (not damaged goods), he still produced in this offense behind a very good RB, and he would still be playing behind Hurd next season as well.

I could see a team take a chance on him as high as the fourth or fifth round. Seems like a lot of people are downplaying the explosiveness he added to our offense.

At this point I don't think NFL teams have seen enough of him for him to go higher than the 6th or 7th round, maybe squeak into the 5th. I think another year would help him get to a higher pick. Sutton 1 or 2, JRM, probably 3 to 5.

It would likely be a mistake for Kamara but for us, we will be fine. #1. With him leaving, we can add another recruit to this class #2. It will be Kelly & Hurd running the ball next season.

Someone did draft Dexter McCluller from Ole Piss and he is similar in style with Kamara. However; Kamara was never the starter here.

Ya never know. I never thought C. Patterson was a first round selection. But he was drafted in the 1st round. He was a special teams player but a very, very incomplete receiver.
Who drafts a player in the 1st round just based on their special teams play, other than the Raiders with Sebastian Janakowski.

I totally disagree. Kamara, is NFL caliber. He has the talent, and seems to enjoy the work it takes to be an elite RB, and any NFL, should be happy have him on their team.

I just hope in hindsight, whatever he decides is found to be the wise choice and everything goes his way.

I think a lot of him, he has seem to have matured since coming to the Vols.

Good luck Alvin, thanks for your contribution of getting us back in the mix.

I really hope you stay, if only so I can watch you play as a Vol, one more year.

Truth is you are already a VFL in my book.

I'd love to see him come back. But, honestly, it would be hard to blame him if he leaves. How is coming back here, getting 8 or 9 touches a game (he had 107 carries this year per ESPN), going to improve his draft stock? Not being a Negavol or questioning the staff, just truly wondering.

He is prototype scat back, along the line of Sproles. As everyone knows, not enough film on him, but I would expect his number at a combine situation would be similar, Sproles seems to have a half step faster, but Alvin has more power, the way he jumps, it just fun to watch. Other players watching him, have started jumping too, looks like they all think they could fly, if they had the right cape(blame that on Dobbs, he probably convinced them with some "Rocket Science" malarkey, although he did go Superman on his last TD, maybe the play of the game, except for the 100 yard pick six, or the Hurd stuff arm). It's nice to have so many to choose from.

2016, has the chance to be special.

I will give my all for Tennessee today!

I love Alvin, and what he brings. But he has nothing onFoster and we see how that turned out. Kamara isn't even a feature back

That's absurd. Even if he goes undrafted, he still could sign a Free Agent contract worth Millions. If that is the wrong choice, the boy has got it made. None of my bad choices, ever made me money.

I just hope that it all works out for the best for him, and it means he stays hear. The more future NFL stars we have on our team, the better we will be, and will win more games.

The best idea Ive heard was for him to get some good insurrence, saying if he doesn't get drafted, the Ins. company owes him $5,000,000.00.

Then stay and come back for a year to be remembered. I think they know it's gonna be our year, and will stay to be a part of it.

Either way VFL, in my book.

No. Undrafted free agents sign 3 year contracts worth $435,000. The minimum salary has built-in increases each year, so basically it's 3 years and $1.575 million which is not much different than a late round drafted player. However, the difference is the undrafted player only receives a few thousand in guaranteed money from the signing bonus while the late round drafted player can receive up to $170,000. It's much cheaper to release the undrafted player who costs virtually no guaranteed money than the drafted player who also costs the draft pick itself.

Also, I don't buy the argument some are making that he couldn't improve his stock by playing another year in the SEC for a top 25 team. That is nonsense.
