Kaiya on social media

I'd rather spend every moment of the game trying to win the game, not playing feelings ball. Kim Caldwell will be judged on wins and losses, not whether she got the last player on the bench in the game on Senior Day.

How’d that work out for her? Ralph 3- Kimmie 0

AND playing your 5th year senior for 30 seconds isn’t going to cost you the game but those stupid a$$ substitution patterns and recruiting people who can’t shoot a lick
surely will.

Like UNC or not, the men’s team has always started all seniors since Dean until the 1st timeout which is typically the tv timeout. Every other year it’s against Duke so it’s not like the game doesn’t have even more on the line.
UNC men are letting seniors address the crowd tonight. Will surely be emotional as they have two seniors who played all four years at UNC, which is a rarity these days. Loyalty from the program often begets loyalty from the players, and I just feel badly for Kaiya who gave us her whole career and for the fans who want to thank her for her loyalty to the program.

Little things can make a big difference......

For a coach who has lost the support of former players, this oversight will loom large. Wynn's post was a stealth missile that I am sure hit the intended targets.

I just posted on another thread that I am pretty confident that CKC gets another year but "little stuff" like this could be a tipping point if her team crashes out of the tournaments.
Not only that, but a decision to not play a player who spent 5 years on your roster on Senior Day could really hurt future recruiting.

Kidding? You actually believe giving KW one of the dozens of 2 minute shifts, which she felt compelled to tell us she wanted, was going to have an impact on a double digit loss?

The fervor with which her biggest supporters carry CKCs water is telling of the seriousness of her situation.

Conversely, I think there are PLENTY of valid criticisms of Caldwell, the players, the season and the system, but using this is just people that hate her looking for something else to complain about. It's like when people complain Heupel doesn't shave the day of a game.

I can only speak for myself, but I most definitely do not hate Kim Caldwell. I’ve been low-key crushing on her since Day One and have appreciated everything from her personal strength, to her refreshing directness, to her ability to recruit, to her self-confidence. I have often chuckled at her chipmonkey cuteness.

But man, she messed up not getting Kaiya few seconds of her final home game. She just did. I still like her and am not ready to ditch her yet, though.

Kim has shown she has a bit of a temper and she has said publicly a couple of things she should have said privately. I still like her, though, and don”t want to see her fired.

I also am 100% convinced that shuffling players in and out of games too many times is detrimental to focus and rhythm. But again, I can dislike that part of her system and still not hate her or want her to be fired.

That’s exactly what I mean about extreme water carrying for Caldwell. Automatic haters? I thought if we could agree on anything it would be dont be mean to Kaiya Wynn.

For me, it’s about my love for Kaiya and what she stands for way more than the slightest feeling I could ever muster for Kim Caldwell.

Also, folks looking to criticize CKC are not exactly on a scavenger hunt looking for reasons. The worst month in modern LV history is covering that quite well.

That’s the crowning irony of the KW snub. This is a woman who literally cannot sub enough yet cannot find two minutes for a five year who stated publicly she wanted to step on the court. A glaring example of the struggles this staff is having in the locker room, a very unnecessary self own in player relationships.

Sadly tho, this is probably a glimpse at the future. Players don’t care as much about schools and coaches don’t care as much about players. Im afraid the LVs have a head start on that dynamic.

If true, she may have thought that if she can't get 30 seconds of court time on Senior Day, then she has ZERO chance of seeing playing time for whatever is left of the rest of the season, and so she may as well give her academics 100% of her time.

I really hope it's not true, but I can understand if she and her family are super hurt right now.

Hopefully Kim has learned a lot of valuable lessons this year. Really doesn't matter weather she's still here or ask to leave a lot going on that will take a lot of time to rectify.

I'm going to guess Kaya knew long ago she had zero chances of seeing playing time. But stayed, again, just like she did last year. Before her severe injury and grueling rehab.

If this is true and I hope not, this is all about being truly insulted on senior day. For some of us its also a symbol of the end of an era which we probably should let go of, expecting two way loyalty. But damn I'm gonna hate if Kaiya's loyalty got that boot in the face.

I'm not going to believe it unless somebody credible confirms it

"Source: trust me bro" is a very poor way of getting people to believe you
I get him seeking to protect a source, especially if close. I tend to forget that not all news has found its way to the internet. It doesn’t really matter if anyone believes him or not. I actually don’t recall punkin’ ever acting a troll. Really bad news if true. Not so much for the game but for the team and program. We’ll know for sure when they hit the road, prolly before.

CP I would probably do the same thing if I were Kaiya. She SHOULD have seen the floor Sunday.

Since we're playing the "I heard from someone" game right now ... I'll preface this by saying IF.

IF it's true, it's another casualty of this train wreck of a season. I won't pretend it means anything good, but I also don't know that there's much to be done other than keep on keeping on. The hits are not done coming. People are gonna be carving chunks out of the staff and the program all offseason. All the staff can do now is focus on how to get right for next year.
