See you miss the whole point. I was responding to your arrogance. You didn't say .."Hey, nice run. We will have some great games in the future"...you talked about rightful order and domination once again. It's not arrogance on my part. It's a defense of our program that you want to dismiss as a flash in the pan, which I know is not. I don't think any South Carolina fan believes that we are on equal footing with your long term success but we have closed that gap and passed it for this season. I think it will be a dog fight for years to come. Not a return to dominance or a rightful order for Tennessee. If you really believe that then you are not looking at this realistic. I have always respected this board and the Tennessee programs but don't dismiss us as a flash in the pan. That's not what this is.

I am really excited about the future games to come between SC and Tennessee. If they are anything like the games against LSU during the Files/Augustus/ Chapman era, we as fans are in for a treat! I guess we take your demeanor as arrogance because you seem over confident now that South Carolina is winning. But if the team I was rooting for was no longer the doormat of the SEC, I would be excited also. I would imagine when Tennessee was dominating the sport, our fan base was viewed as being arrogant, especially when Candace Parker dunked on UConn's court on a nationally televised game. I could watch that clip over and over!

Show me where I dismissed or said anything bad about your program? My response throughout this thread is more about you trying to put staley's in the same category as CPS prematurely and we all know that's b.s. As a matter of fact you're the one that was trying to downplay CPS as if she was just any other coach in your attempt to bring your own coach up and that's what my main issue is so stay on topic while responding to me and if anybody is arrogant here it's you not me.

It's either blatant arrogance or blatant homerism to compare Dawn Staley to Pat Summitt, or just a true disregard for what Pat has truly accomplished and all she did for the sport. She was one of the pioneers of this sport and was coaching before the huge salaries and before the media exposure and glitz and glamor. How soon people forget what all Pat did in her early days. Washing the team's uniforms, driving the team's station wagon to away games, selling donuts to pay for equipment and uniforms.

There will never be another Pat for the sport of women's basketball because Pat got started in a time that cannot be repeated.

The only program that is "dominating the sport" is UConn.

And we weren't dominating the sport when Candace dunked on UConn, either. It was a 4 vs. 5 matchup and TN was in the midst of a nearly decade-long NC drought at that point, which thankfully came to an end at the end of that season. Duke was undefeated at that time and they and UNC were the heavy favorites for the NC that season.

I concur that we are all chasing UCONN and none of us are there yet.....Pat was the first of women's basketball dominance....I just hope people will say the same thing about us in a decade....right now it's just hope though....we are getting there but that's a tall order...
