Hopefully, he has a monster year. I remember last year, everybody was freaking out about him trucking over guys in training camp, but he didn't really have a huge impact during the season. I know some of that was due to him missing his senior year, but we need him to have a much better season this year

I have to say I don't remember him making many plays. But...if he was disruptive, collapsing the pocket, requiring a double team that will benefit the linebackers. They did great last year so....

Also, conditioning was a big issue for him last year. Regardless, he needs a big year compared to last year.

He was 17 years old.
It takes time to build effort endurance. Its not just about beong physically fit or in football shape... its mostly psychological.

He did fine last year.
He'll be outstanding this year.

How much are the Vols counting on K Mac this year, how much will his play dictate the success of the Vols?
Questions that will soon be answered...
Go Vols

Born in January 97. That would make him 18 last year, correct? Still get your point though.

Sorry to repeat but our DLine is going to make the difference.
Think about Kongbo and Phillips at DE,
they don't start. Depth is going to be an advantage.

K Mac is going to be a Force Of Nature inside for us this season. Shoop must be doing cartwheels knowing he has this kind of defensive firepower. I know I would. Players like KMac make playcalling so much easier.

Correct in that he didnt make that many big plays. I think it had more to do with hm not playing his senior year. So we could think of last year as his SR year and this year he is a true freshman. He came here with monumental expectations that he may or may not be able to live up to. I do think he and Tuttle will be a force in the middle this year.

A good bit on both counts IMO. Especially if it takes Shy awhile to round back into shape and play at the high level he's capable of.

KMac should be significantly better this season. He was a summer arrival and hadn't played football since his junior year of high school. Had some bad weight and poor conditioning. Now he will have a full fall, spring, and summer to learn the playbook, get his diet right, get fully into the strength and conditioning program, etc. Plus, he has had the chance to learn from the veterans on the DL and has some valuable in-game SEC experience under his belt.
