Justin Worley discussion (mega-merged)

Did Dooley? If not for injuries to Hunter and Bray in his 2nd year then it is likely that they would have gone bowling.... and had a general image of an improving program. That might have even bought him some slack for the stupid attempt to go to the 3-4.

I don't think so. A coach should get 3 years to make a move. It doesn't have to be a championship but the on the field product should be clearly improved in every way.... to include wins... by year 3.

You can count on 5 years minimum.:good!:

We have two QBs behind Worley, and it was a three-horse race all spring and summer. The backups should be game-ready, so it's possible we won't see catastrophic dropoff from Worley's inconsistent play. But if we do, people will question not bringing in a QB in the 2014 recruiting class. After our situation last year, having a solid Fr or JUCO QB on the roster would have been good insurance. We might need it.

You probably thought Dooley deserved 4 years too.

I did till the Kentucky loss. Not because he lost to Kentucky, that was bound to happen, it was the players not giving a flock that got me.
Even with that loss he would have been given a 4th year had he made it to a bowl game in year 3.
Butch seems to have a different attitude among his players. And if you think UT won't give Butch every imaginable opportunity to succeed your nuts.
We've been paying 2 HC salaries since CPF and they are sick of it up on the hill.

He'll get a fair shot no different than Dooley did. Dooley made it easy and plain to see in a rather short amount of time. That doesn't equate to Jones being guaranteed 5 years regardless of what happens in those 5 on the field.

The sick and tired part is true. I think the sick should be and probably is more tied to hiring a guy you have to fire halfway through his contract because the fanbase as well as the team has laid down on him.
