Justin Martin has 'a lot to prove' as senior

You missed the part where he said "all times, in all situations in the game, off the field and on the field." He only said "pretty much" at end of the sentence as a form of punctuation, meaning "and that's pretty much it." You completely misinterpreted what he was trying to say.

No. Everyone knows college football players are required to be regular public speaking masterminds.

He definitely meant to discount all that stuff when he said "pretty much".

Anyway, a CB that never turns to look for the ball has confidence issues, IMO. And Martin has been one of the worst I've seen in that department.

He can turn it around if he does what he says he's doing.

That was EVERY CB under Martinez. Maybe he's deficient regardless of coaching, but let's judge him under Warren first.

What on earth leads you to believe they are equal? Osborne hasn't even played a meaningful down yet in his career.

Martin is physically more talented and has more experience. As long as his head is on right he will be starting at CB.

The poster you responded to made a reasonable comment/remark imo.

Pretty sure you said Martin would be all-SEC if not an All-American last year. How'd that work out?

As far as his head being on right, it wasn't last year, and may or may not be this year. Osborne is plenty talented to leapfrog Martin and play ahead of him if Martin doesn't put it all together, which he hasn't come close to doing the previous two seasons.

Hopefully the light comes on for this kid cause he has as much talent as anyone on this team. With a good season he could seriously be a first round draft pick in 2018. Physically he's got what the NFL is looking for in a CB. Size, length, speed, and athleticism.

Justin Martin has a chance to be special.

It always amazes me the number of first rounders he believes that are walking around on our team.

He is pretty much not convincing. He's mouthing the words he thinks you want to hear.

I pretty much don't think he'll do much this year either.

Pretty much gonna be the same as prior years. Bench material.

And how was his play last year?

Well since we're talking about it.. he was weak against the run because he can't get off blocks and he's not physical enough at the line. Possibly just needs more time in the weight room and better coaching. I expect both of those to happen.

And the part about turning your head to find the ball.. I never once saw Martinez practicing that with the db's, and we saw Coach Warren doing it in the first practice clip.

Like I said, I hope he proves me wrong and I'll be rooting for him like heck!

Go Vols!

I was amazed and disgusted at the numerous times easily defensible passes were caught by our opponents because our DBs and CBs weren't turning around to the ball

I, like you had "pretty much" jump out at me. Tells me he is pretty much wishing he can pretty much play the game with a pretty much acceptable mind set.

Not very decisive sounding.

I believe he is using "pretty much" to say that's the best he can describe it. It's clear that the opportunity to talk to the media is one he's proud of earning and it seems he may have been guarded, not wanting to break into something akin to "ima go hard for these mfers and we gon ride or die like the bad mfers we know we are", pretty much.
