I dont root for tebow for 2 reasons. 1 is im not into all his hype, he's still not a very good qb. 2 is I dont believe you have to be religious to have good character. He has, with the aid of the media, built this persona of good boy christian values makes god win me football games. And that gets forced on you every time they talk about him on sportscenter. I dont care for the bible thumping.
On the flip side, let's take a vol like jason witten. Arguably the best te in the game. A lot of people on here hate the cowboys, but do they stop rooting for jason bc he plays for them? Or do they remain proud of him for where he came from and how he conducts himself both on and off the field?
I'm one of those people. Not a Cowboys fan by virtue of usually pulling for the Eagles (unless playing Raider or Titans) but I always like to see Jason Witten succeed. He won me over for life in the 2001 TN/Bama game. Peyton Manning is the one I will have trouble with. I can remember the cheer heard 'round campus when Peyton announced he was staying for his senior year, but as a diehard Raider's fan I want the Broncos to lose, always.
I agree he is not a good qb but he doesn't bring the religious questions into it. the media does it to stir the pot IMO. At his Jets press conf. today media was asking ridiculous questions regarding his faith and he had to say several times he would be glad to discuss his faith but they were here for football questions related to the Jets.
When are you guys gonna get off Da'Rick Rogers.Kid has had an attitude problem but its not like he is a danger to society. He will learn from it. Truth is without Da'Rick we wouldn't be as good. He is a talent and that can't be denied.Just cut him some slack. He isn't Kelly Washington or even done the things some of our former beloved players have done. Ala Leonard Little, Donte Stallworth and probably better then both. Blast away Volnation blast away.
Just seems like an all around good guy. He seems to have his head on straight, he seems kind, and I think he deserves all the talent that he has been blessed with. I am older than Justin Hunter and I think I could learn a lot from him in the character department. So, enough with the sunshine pumping.....
Could you root for Justin Hunter even if he played for your most hated rival?
What a nega thing to say
